Already too late. Besides they can't stop old people from dying, that's pretty much the core of the base.

That government education subsidation is responsible for tuition inflation is incontrovertible.
Just take a look at the for profit universities - almost all set their tuition rates exactly at the amount the average student can borrow without credit qualifications due to federal law. |

What I like about the Ryan choice is that he exposes Obama as absolutely clueless on economics. I'd like to see a debate with him and Obama. Somebody needs to make that happen. Ryan would shred the absolute fuck out of him. The Obama campaign has no choice but to get even dirtier than they have been - which is saying something.
He's also younger, smarter and makes Obama look so goddamn status quo. Good choice. |

I had one relative move out of New Orleans into a suburb across the lake. Last time I visited, and as we were driving around the ticky-tacky, looks-the-same-as-anywhere suburban landscape around her neighborhood, I teasingly said, "wow.. look at all the blacks and Mexicans around here! So many more than the last time I visited! Before you know it, it's gonna look just like the city!" Her response? "Shut up! Just shut up! That's not true!" I know how to push those buttons, haha..

I love the idea that Paul Ryan knows anything about economics. I've read that fucking plan. Took me two days to come down from the laughing high.

He took it because he knows they have a great chance of winning, the election comes down to the debates in the end, if Ryan and Romney just show up lax and don't force Obama to look down at his notes and think for a bit then they don't have a chance. Everybody is laughing at Romney and Ryan but they have a damn good chance of beating Obama and Biden.

Its true, but what I see is that Romney now has opened himself up to be a spineless flip-flopper AND an insanely radical idealogue. I think the base thinks that Romney is a panderer and a phony and in the long run I don't see how this does much but reinforce that.

Usually when the economy is this bad it's very easy to takedown the incumbent (see jimmy carter and George bush sr.) that being said I believe Obama will still win. I think the country is forever changed now and there is just enough people that can see through political bullshit that will row the vote in Obamas favor.
