I never got how people who disliked Takedown because of the traffic checking, never mentioned the massive amount of shortcuts or the larger emphasis on car combat.

Those two new factors easily replaced the skill of weaving through traffic from Burnout 3.

You still have to weave through incoming traffic in Revenge, because you can't check cars coming towards you.

I always thought crashing because you rear ended a car was dumb in Burnout 3. It's not like they were stopped at a stop light.

Just bought takedown earlier today on xbl. After playing for an hour or so I do think revenge is better. Yes the traffic checking isn't the best addition but overall I think the races are better due to the numerous shortcuts available and I prefer the crash junctions. Both great games though. I'm really tempted to get revenge on digital even though I have it on disc! Yes I know I'm crazy but I'd like it just easily accessible to me.

So this thread prompted me to get all of my BO games together and try to find my old Xbox version of Takedown. I found it, and to my surprise I also found I had these:

3 different versions of Revenge. I have no idea what's going on.

What's traffic "checking"?

It's an in-race minigame where you can hit cars going in the same direction into race rivals or other cars causing traffic-check takedowns and other chain reactions.

It has its own mode called Traffic Attack.
