So why exactly are you in this thread? It seems like the only point of you being here is to start up a unnecessary argument.

A lot of people despise the current direction of the company, deal with it. I can express my dislike for it as much you can express your love for DA2 or whatever. If you don't like it, ignore my posts. |

I'd like it if the game was good. I loved Origins, and theoretically a lot of the people that made that game are still there right? If they went into it with the right mindset, the right goals for the project and a proper understanding of what went wrong with DA2, they could still make a good product. But given Bioware's recent output and attitude, I don't think they have the right priorities, and I doubt they actually understand why people hated DA2 so much. And even if they did, I don't think EA would let them make the game the way it should be made. It has to have the broadest appeal possible to sell what EA needs it to sell, and I don't think we're gonna get an RPG with that broad appeal without doing away with most of what made the genre interesting. |

Seriously, we don't need a daily reminder that people hate Bioware. It would be a much better discussion if we focused what the thread is actually about.

If it's like Dragon Age II with more time in the oven (and presumably far fewer flaws - fingers crossed) I'll be happy, I really enjoyed Dragon Age II. I know, I'm the worst person. :P
Mass Effect 3's co-op, did turn out well, by the way. Perfectly understandable to upset at the idea of its inclusion in Dragon Age 3, I just thought the basis of the complaint in the OP was completely off-base. |

NWN was built all around multi-player, the main campaign was awful.
You mean Bioware and the future of the series? Yeah, because that's what people are discussing. Not my fault the last 5 years or so of the company have been awful. |

If it is, that will be might disappointing and i definitely wont buy it. choosing to be direct or indirect better damn well lead to different gameplay scenarios (and hopefully story consequences) or else its simply pointless

Given the story description from the leak, I wonder if they're setting this game up to be the last in the series? They always said that they didn't intend for the series to be a trilogy, but all this talk of demons entering the world and a hidden foe manipulating everything from behind the scenes sounds like end game material to me. |

I mean, let's take ME3 for example. If the Montreal studio had helped with the Singleplayer, we probably wouldn't have the rushed ending and the general lack of polish. But Montreal probably wouldn't have joined without the need for the MP in the first place. |

Personally, I hope this is the last one since i never really liked Dragon Age's universe. Its incredibly bland to me I also have to say that the questionaires are for marketing purposes and not the actual game makes a lot of sense since they definitely need help with that, and it is pretty late in the game to change anything substantial now |

If only because it is pretty fun to watch them fail in unique and amazing new ways...

In all fairness to Bioware, I liked the political stuff from Origins. The mess of dwarven politics and the landsmeet seemed well done. |

Eh. I don't hate the wheel on principle, but Hawke had some really bad dialogue and characterization. I don't know if that's down to the way Bioware writes for a dialogue wheel system or if Hawke was just a bad character. But if you're going to try to make your protagonist feel less like a role the player fills and more like an actual character, he or she should probably actually be an interesting character, or what's the point? Recent Bioware protagonists have been stuck in this weird middle ground where you can't step into their shoes but their also really, really boring.
That's another thing. It felt entirely random whether what Hawke said would actually square with what I wanted him to say. I was actually OCD enough to reload a save several times when he would take the reins of a conversation and veer into crazytown. And since there were only three tones that you could react to anything with, Hawke came across as super emotionally stunted. He could only ever be diplomatic, sarcastic, or angry in any situation. |

I think it's going to be a very careful unveiling. I anticipate that they'll probably hit us with gameplay right away, as opposed to dropping a CG trailer and then not saying anything for a while.
They know they have an alienated audience, and they know the stakes are high. Let's see if they can pull this off. I don't have a lot of faith. |

I haven't, but that's not the first time I've heard that about that game. It seems to be a problem for the "protagonist that has a voice but you still pick what he says" model. I thought Deus Ex Human Revolution did a pretty good job at not making the protagonist sound schizophrenic, but that game gave you a chunk of the actual dialogue so that you could tell what he was actually going to say.

More importantly, I DO NOT want this to happen. Obsidian probably has only a little fight left in them and I rather not see them wasted on DA. |

I will be curious, though: Mike Laidlaw front and center for the PR, or hidden behind the curtain?
Oh, I know it's not going to happen. I don't even know if it would be good for Obsidian. I just know it would be good for the DA franchise. |
