I won't believe any of this. But one question still bugs me: If this was just put on that list by mistake...what should have been on that list instead? I mean, you don't just list something as big as Half-Life 3 and then say it's just by accident. That's just...not cool. Not cool at all. Not even luke warm. It's stupid. Maybe it's just Valve (or Gamescom) trolling fans as usual? According to someone, a bunch of the code hints before the recent TF2 update included 3's, so I assume Valve occasionally puts hints to troll.

VG websites, magazines, PC hardware manufacturers, Sony and MS, the cashier at Gamestop, the cashier at Target, all of those people would be ahead in the line of people who would need to find out about HL3 early.

Not really, they usually get some good reveals, but it's generally a pretty embarrassing console/dudebro focused show.

Valve is bigger than any show/expo anyway. They can just throw up something on steam anytime they want and get all the publicity they need.

Half Life 2 was first shown at at E3, Left 4 Dead 2 was shown at MS e3 conference....I think Valve likes those big shows.

They've talked about it a bit. Gabe said recently its in development, with a full staff (no one has left the team since development started) and that there've been a lot of twists and turns in development, thats why they haven't showed it.

Anytime Gabe is talking about Ricochet 2, he means HL3.

Gabe has talked in indirect terms stating there is a actually a large group working on a new Half Life game. Most likely it is going to use Source Engine 2, which the existence of was leaked from the source film maker.
