Tilt to Live, League of Evil, and Dungeon Raid remain the "kings of iOS," which may as well also be called the janitors of gaming. |

Yeah, some pretty terrible opinions about Valve games right there.
Not to mention the "TF2 is hard to get into now". No, it's not. At all. It's like the easiest game in that genre to get into. If you go on a public server and you've played a couple of FPS games before you're already better than half the people playing. |

Jeff, you are not alone, brother. I also think Half Life 2 drags along. I also thought Portal 2 wasn't near as good as Portal 1(Though it had some great moments). I also think Left 4 Dead is boring as shit. And I also think TF2 is impossible to get into these days, and this is coming from someone who played from 2008 through all the original class updates. With all the preorder weapon BS it just got to the point that I was having to figure out 'ok my enemy killed me with this. wtf does this do' after every death.
But I'm sure we also disagree on something in that same vein. I got Killer 7 and Half Life 2 on the same day, and I ended up playing Killer 7 and never going back to Half Life after 5 or 6 hours |

At least Jeff realised that his opinions, while valid, are weird outliers. In no known reality could you claim that Left 4 Dead was a miss for Valve.

I've pretty much entirely lost contact with Giant Bomb's preferences in gaming in 2012. I was with them until Skyrim beat SR3 for goty. It's been downhill ever since then and it actually seems to be retroactively changing in terms of games from the past, such as HL2. I think SR3 was the last review I paid attention to. I pay heed when it comes to retro games, but otherwise I'm on a different page.

Yeah I like Vinny and Drew for actual game discussion, if they're talking about stuff I'm into. Definitely like the bombcast more when they're talking about games I'm not really interested in.

Jeff and Ryan's taste in games never aligned with mine. Vinny, Dave and Brad are usually closer matches. Patrick is a little unpredictable. Other than quirky indie platformers, it's hard to guess what he'll think of a game. Their reviews are the last thing I come to the site for. I try not to get too bothered by their opinions unless they are based on a false assumption or something along those lines.
That all said, Half Life 2 maybe the game I've played most from beginning to end and I'm always surprised by people who don't like it. Both Portal games feel close to flawless to me.

Honestly? I've never finished Episode 2. I loved almost all of it, until I got to the fight in the wide-open field. I found it repetitive, frustrating, and when I played myself into a corner (multiple enemies approaching the base, car long-lost in the distance) that I couldn't overcome, it just killed my interest in the game.

Yep, but I thought anyone knew that murder by nitrogen is easy detectable because it leaves the muscle fiber dotted with blood. To really silently murder you would need to use argon, which is too expensive.

I gotta say, I like Ep2 a lot, but I don't really dig the antlion cave part very much, which is like the first 1/4 of the game. |

Defending the caves exits should suck, but they make it very intense and atmospheric. I love the caves. |
