05./00. [3DS] Run for Money Tousouchuu: Flee From the Strongest Hunters in History! (Namco Bandai) - 26,328 / 76,108

Surprising hit!
A few weeks ago was:

18./37. [3DS] Tousouchuu: Shijou Saikyou no Hunter-Tachi Kara Nigekire! <ACT> (Bandai Namco Games) {2012.07.05} (5.040) - 8.962 / 40.919 (+371%)

I wonder what's the increase for this week, lol
Btw, third parties are selling nicely on 3DS: Rune Factory IV is on the way to become the best selling entry in the series, Little Battlers eXperience: Explosive Boost is selling way above many people expectations, and it's the third version of the same game (next week should increase thanks to Obon), Monster Hunter 3G still in chart (and growing!) after 8 months, etc.

Edit: Run for Money increase with respect to last week is +968%
lol!

3DS seem better holding but sell less than 3DSLL. I assume it is just after launch stock.

It's the second time it jumps in the chart, which means it has been sold out at least twice and Namco Bandai is not able to fully satisfy the demand. But such numbers are incredible from a game out of nowhere.

Its not out of nowhere if it is based on a TV show, no? Good sales numbers though =)

It will be interesting to see how Nintendo will balance the allocation of its resources between the Wii U and the 3DS in the coming year.

It'll probably be a repeat of the DS/Wii situtation. Nintendo will release Zelda 3DS and Pokemon 3DS and then basically abandon 3DS (leave the 3DS to 3rd parties) to focus on selling Wii U. Nintendo certainly doesn't have the resources to support both adequately.

Nice too see the 3DS sell so well! And why is PSV seeing a boost in sales when it has no games on the top 20?

Statistical noise.

I was saying that here no one considered this game as a good seller. And constant sold-out shown us how neither Namco Bandai would have expected such numbers.

I'm curious as to how Persona 4 Arena's sales are doing compared to other major fighting game releases over the years.

3ds selling around 2x all others combined.

japan might as well cede to the 3ds, the only healthy platform really.

400 units give or take isn't worth writing down. Well, maybe it is so when it comes to the situation the Vita's in.

No, 3ds is meant to be sold along with the LL. LL isn't meant to replace it. 3DS has been fairly consistent for the past 3 weeks.

Great performance for the 3ds (both XL and normal), while the Wii is obviously fading but still second.
Mario is suffering a little imho, while DQ see a nromal decrese for an rpg in its second week.
Generally speaking it seems that 3ds is the only console really healthy it this moment, both sw and hw wise.

Huge opportunity for Wii U. I can see a lot of PS3 devs switching over to Wii U development in the next year, especially if they aren't looking to further increase budgets.

Of course it could be well over that when you combine retail and digital. I wonder with what frequency Nintendo will share that information?

DS was destroying everything and that didn't help the Wii with 3rd parties. Japanese 3rd parties who are going to make HD console games don't only have Japan in mind all the time. Nintendo has a bigger chance though certainly. Their relationship with Japanese 3rd parties is much better than with the west.

I think Nintendo Directs are the most indicated place where Iwata would discuss such numbers

With the way it's going, the 3ds could hit 8 million in 10-13 weeks depending on how it fares. I can't see vita reaching 1 million before that with its under 10,000 a week fad.

The 3DS will also do 3m YTD before the Vita reaches 500k YTD....sad times for the device. I would say it deserves better, but I sold mine after becoming disenchanted with the software offering. Next year might be differen though.

Vita should get a nice Miku bump this month though, and there's some other appealing fall software that may keep it above 10k weekly (Ys IVr, LBXW, etc). It'll be a close race imo.
