Fix the controls/mouse and it'll be time for a new computer. Hopefully we'll see direct feed video of it in motion.

Looks solid. I'll be there day one, see if I can find a community to play with. I've always been jealous those euro dudes in the RPS community meet to play this so often.

I keep telling myself I should buy 2 sometime but I've been told it's mostly a MP game. If there is a meaty SP I'll probably buy it whenever that stupid mod stops inflating the price.

Such an angry man. :P The SP has some incredibly rough edges to it but it's a straight-up milisim in every way. I think you'll be into it.

The whole ArmA II experience contains about 5 campaigns and a series of standalone missions. There are also mod campaigns and missions set in fan-created islands that have been acknowledged by BIS to exist in the "ArmAverse".

I myself am waiting for the remade campaigns of ArmA 0 and I to hit ArmA II.

EDIT: AND BIS is making one more expansion to add another campaign + more missions.

Yeah I know I should have bought it in the past. I had plenty of $10 opportunities and passed on it so I'm paying the price for that now.

Its a co-op game.

and the community is so great that you won't need to struggle with the team based situation on your own.

The SP in these games is turd on a stick, has nothing to do with milsim. Just shit scenarios with lots of bugs. SP is just there, MP is what this game does and where it truly shines. People who haven't played this as a proper milsim in a big squad ( Ala Shack Tactical ) are missing out big-time.

What indications have we seen that it won't happen? The closest thing to that I've read was "it would take about a year from now to get DayZ running on it."

I still enjoyed it in SP. I thought giving out commands was pretty fun, and getting to experience all the cool things about Arma with a bit less pressure like in MP was nice.

What? Arma 2 isn't MP centric. It has a campaign that varies wildly between linear and sandbox. There are 4 expansions each with their own campaign. There are many mod campaigns on top of that.

That's good to see, guess I got some bad intel in the past. I'm really into ultra hardcore sims...but just for SP.

You can still enjoy ArmA II. There may be some hiccups here and there, but overall I quite enjoyed what I played of the Harvest Red campaign.

I'm sorry but what exactly is wrong with the mouse in Arma(2)? Don't mean to offend but don't blame the game if you're not clever enough to turn off mouse smoothing, unless of course you're talking about something else...

You are wrong.

They always release screenshots with bad IQ but my experience with Arma 2 tells me that the ingame IQ can be cranked to insane heights.

I guess it looks good for an ARMA game but this looks horrible. Horrible textures and the Depth of Field blur is very low quality.

So basically we're looking at the screens with "I know how this will look on my PC" goggles? I'm judging the graphics that I see in the screens and they're bad.

But it is just as obtuse as the multi. And the demos are hugely outdated. I think BIS put out some official gameplay walkthrough vids if you want to check that.

How does this qualify as horrible? Honestly, I'm confused. Are you comparing it Battlefield and its shiny, pretty linearity?

For what is essentially an open-world military shooter, I can't think of one game that looks better than this at present, and even as a game it doesn't look ugly.

Jesus Christ man, this is near photorealistic when you take into account the bad compression.

EDIT: Even after you edited to another pic, it still doesnt look anywhere near photo-realistic. Looks decent.

Game just isn't a looker. Being open-world is nice and it's a nice trade off for less than stellar graphics but Planetside 2 impresses me more.
