I was impressed. I imagine it had a minuscule proportion of the budget of the Olympics opening ceremony but they did a great job. The emphasis on science was pretty ballsy given most people, unfortunately, don't care much for it but it provided a great backdrop of inspiration. Nice symbolism all round.

How many countries even show the paralympics live on tv? Outside of the UK and Australia, I doubt anyone has anything other than highlights packages(which is shit in this day and age. If broadcasters can muster up 8+ channels for the olympics, they should be able to have at least one for the paralympics).

Starting to feel sorry for the dancers/'athlete wranglers' in the stadium now, they've been stuck there dancing for ages, they must be knackered! Having said that, I wouldn't be against the DJ playing 'Death of the Prodigy Dancer' for a laugh.

I think that was some sport in Special Olympics. That was much different. It is where everyone is winner and getting the medal. So no real team therefore anyone wear what colour they want.

DAAAAAAAAAAMN, channel 4's flash player is very good as well. you can rewind like the bbc and display multiple streams at the same time. i'm suddenly imagining a meeting after they saw the bbc's one and we're like "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU. Yeah, there's a lot of stuff goes on in the paralympics that'll confuse the hell out of people. Hopefully this time around there won't be any complaints about the amount of swimming medals either, as there are justifiably a lot of categories.

I was, but I just kept reloading until it worked. If you have an adblocker on make sure they're off as well as they can fuck up flash players as well.

yeah, and their flash player might well be better than the BBC's, which is incredible. The live replay seems to update quicker and shows you where world records happened.
