I remember every year in elementary school some guys from Duncan would come put on a yo-yo show and then sell them afterward.
Everyone was super into yo-yos for about a week and then never again until the next year. Edit: Speaking of belts, wearing one of these kinds with the strap hanging down about a foot and a half from the buckle:

Japan anime, boy am I glad I came to my senses and abandoned that "passion" pretty early on, also Spawn and Pitt comics, Greenday, Offspring, Rancid and NoFx. Although I still listen to a bit of Punk, here and there for nostalgia.
Edit: also I used to think Adam Sandler was cool, had his audio tapes, thought they were funny. But then the guy started to make movies, shortly I realized he is just an unfunny, untalented hack. Now I wouldn't go see a movie with him starring in, if you paid me.

![]() 2XL Tall Stafford T-Shirts from JCPenny. Probably was just a local thing, or perhaps a neighborhood thing here, but Jesus Christ we used to wear those things to death in highschool. That and starching our blue jeans so much that they were as hard as cardboard with Sta-Flo ![]() Christ, my whole room smelled like that stuff 100% of the time. Remember the lights? LA Gear made them I think. I loved those things man. Damn near lost my mind when my parents bought me a pair.

Those shoes where each one had a roller skate (just one!) in the heel.
I went downhill on like a mile trail and realized there was no way to stop when I was going that fast so I had to just keep going and going and going and going and dear god my ankles hurt for a week. |

![]() In high school my best friend and I were the typical pop-punk fangirls and completely obsessed with Fall Out Boy. We were dead set on getting me the Bartskull tattoo on my pelvis, just like Pete Wentz has. We had a set plan and timeline to get it for me. Man was I a fucking idiot. I lost interest and the plan never went through. Personally, I still think the Bartskull looks rad, but there is no way in hell I'd get a tattoo of it, let alone on my pelvis. And I still enjoy listening to Fall Out Boy, just nowhere near the freakish obsession I had as a teenager. |

MySpace. AOL the internet sensation. Frosted hair. Furbies. Dog equivalent of Furbies. Tamagotchi's. Collecting Pokemon trading cards. Roller blades. Skate Decks (all the boys just had to have them!). Family Guy. Having a flip phone with built-in camera. Being friends with anime fans.

But it took twice as long to type... Also, deviantART. Now it's just a cesspool of MLP, creepy Sonic fanart, and "photos that should of been uploaded to Facebook instead". |

PT Cruisers - It's just a 5-passenger car in a really weird shape.
Pokemon - Became aware of the illusion when I saw promos for that episode with the giant Larvitar: the show wasn't good, and it wasn't going anywhere. A waste of time. (The game was still fun.) Yu-Gi-Oh - Custom-made cardboard duel disks took up all my time for a couple weeks when I was 15. Styled hair - So much work for no payoff. Nobody cares what a guy's hair looks like, just keep it short and simple. And when I was even younger: ![]() Goddamn, this is fuc*ing awful. |

This phase lasted almost exactly one year for me.
-Most of 4th grade: Everyone was getting into it, but I couldn't care less. -Late 4th grade: I got bit BAD by the Poke' bug. Had Pokemon Yellow, watched the show, bought SO MANY CARDS!!! -Mid-late 5th grade: Gold and Silver was shown in Nintendo Power and I thought the new Pokemon were shit and I there were even more of them with incomprehensible names than before. A Sheep pokemon? The hell is the point of that?! Agreed that the games are still awesome though. Although when I picked up White I couldn't remember ANY of the strength/weakness stuff plus they added a ton more AND they added dudes with multiple elements. Shit got crazy complicated if you dive that deep. |

I still like my metal, but not at a "I need to constantly live in a northern darkness" level. |

I still wear my old Burzum/Mayhem/Marduk shirts occasionally when i'm slumming around the house and everything else is in the washing machine. I also have that same Transylvanian Hunger shirt. And I also still like various types of metal, but I have expanded my musical tastes in a profound way over the last 6 or so years. |
