I'm not hyped at all. I am going to wait and see what kinds of games are released for it, and how it does sales-wise to get an idea of where its headed. I like the launch games, but I want more than that.
I'll probably get caught up in the whirlwind of tech-talk about the console later this year, but I can't see myself buying one. This is what I said about 3DS, and that worked out beautifully for me. |

Extremely hyped.
Finally Nintendo games in HD (i don't JUST mean resolution, but also assets in higher fidelity, etc.) - Pimin 3!! - News ways of controlling games. I'm very much used to dual analog controls, but i think it's a very unintuitive way of controlling most games. The new ptions can lead to better ways of controls and also to new types of games. |

Hardly hyped, even as a huge Wii fan. Though that's probably the exact reason why I'm underwhelmed. Beyond these Mii minigames and whatnot, there's always been gems on the console regardless and its final E3 reveal before launch was simply amazing.
This time, they are kicking the console into life with nothing but these super cheap productions and similar jokes when it comes to internal studios. That and Pikmin, which was actually a Wii game. And if the final event before launch doesn't give more confidence in the future beyond launch window, they might just head right into a drought before even revealing some fullfledged game for this thing. Launch window looks acceptable apart from that (P-100, Rayman, etc.) but it doesn't convince me if I do not even know what's coming for the first or one and a half years at least. Also, despite P-100 and others looking pretty good, I was naturally expecting fullfledged Nintendo games made specifically for a brandnew Nintendo system, but there's simply nothing as of now. WiiU feels like the least ambitious console they've made with this years fuck up. Also, while I loved the Wiimote, they also completely failed to sell me on the controller, even with the actual concepts these Mii games (and the most underwhelming Wario game in existence) use.

i can't wait. most of the stuff we've seen on wii u so far looks on par, or better than the best looking pc games on the market right now, the online component will easily blow any of the current ones out of the water, and i can't wait to play TF2 with the wiimote, which is easily the best input device for FPS (as we've seen time and time again).

I'm never hyped for systems, only for games.
I quite want to get the hands on NSMBU, Rayman Legends and Pikmin 3 but I wouldn't call this "hype" yet, and I want them because they're sequels of games I really liked, not because they're on a new system. Too busy playing other games for now, anyway. |

This is probably the least hyped I've ever been for a home console launch.
At this point the only way I'm buying one is to flip it on ebay. Nothing was sadder/funnier than walking into a best buy when the ps3 was allegedly sold out and then flip it on ebay the next day for three times the price. Flipping PS3s/wiis near launch paid for over a year of rent. I don't think I will ever own a wiiU for my own use unless there are some shocking third party exclusive gems like SilentHill Shattered Memories which is the only reason I don't regret owning a wii. Probably owning only one console early next gen and I'm not convinced the wiiU won't be in a wii like position where they can't get competent ports of 720/ps4 games.

Not at all. If I'm going to get one it's for either backwards compatibility or for late-gen RPGs.
Edit: I forgot about Dragon Quest X and a possible modern Monster Hunter with proper HD graphics, online multiplayer and dual analog controls. Those might be enough for me to get one too.

Eh, I don't really get hyped over this stuff much these days. It's just a videogames console, not a blowjob machine. I am somewhat interested in getting one though. There's nothing particularly exciting about the hardware, but the launch line up is very appealing (Rayman fuck yeah).

Couldn't be less hyped about a console release in years, maybe decades ......
Got burnt with the Wii buying at release and having no real games..... Got burnt with the 3DS buying at release, no new games, then price drop ..... Got burnt with the Gamecube I'm not getting burnt a 3rd time ....... Sorry edit, make that 4th time (I most probably will buy it tho, consoles are like Pokemon to me, Gotta save them all) |

I wouldn't even get it for that to be honest. I did the same for the Wii, bought it for Mario and Zelda and I considered it basically a waste of money. Never used it after that since none of the 3rd party titles created ever interested me and if they did I found something better to play on PS3/PC anyway.

My Wii was stolen, so I'll be buying a Wii U with backwards compatibility being a big factor, I figure It'd be kinda silly to buy another Wii.
Unless the price is silly high. But as for Wii U content, not much there.

I'm not particularly hyped, and I really think E3 killed the hype I had. I'm probably going to get it at launch because the line-up is pretty strong, but I'm just not excited to the point that I really, really need it right now. I expect this will change once we're given more information about it, though.

Not very. I don't care about any of the games I can already get for my PS3 and while I do think NSMBU, Rayman, and ZombiU look good it's nothing I'm super "hyped" over. It's Nintendo so I know I want it but I've decided to ask for it as a Christmas gift instead of running out and getting one for myself day one.

Hyped.
Nintendo always get the most interesting and fun exclusives. Everything else is multi platform and that means Steam usually. If not, I'm still left with plenty to play. I don't need every great game, but I think this combo leaves me with the best for me to enjoy. |

Not very. I don't really plan to buy at launch but knowing my weakness for launch excitement might be suckered in. Rahman legends is really the only game I really like. There are a couple other pretty goods. So I'll try to just wait for more games before buying. Heh we will see how that plays out.

It doesnt feel like a new console launch at all. Its bizarre. If it wasn't for Rayman Legends and P-100, it'd be hard for me at times to even remember the console even exists.

Not at all excited. First Nintendo console I'll miss launch for since SNES. Hardware looks interesting, but I need more games. I don't specifically know what I want that'll push me over the edge, but nothing in the launch window is it.
I really want it to succeed and I hope third parties all jump on board and help the thing sell, but I personally will still be buying my third party games on PC as long as a PC version is offered. At the very least I hope Japan supports it fully so I can get those games on it, since Eastern titles tend to be my favorites. |
