Plus, PS4/Xbox 720 are coming out next year and will make the Wii U look like a graphical peon. |

I really hope they show a preview of what's to come in 2013, I wanna see what Nintendo can do with current tech. Pikmin 3 is mostly a Wii game turned into a Wii U one and NSMB Wii U is just NSMB in HD with better backgrounds, that's not enough to show what they can do.

Are you read to get EXCITEbots 2 ?
I'm not going to expect any new big Nintendo titles announcements at the conference. Japanese third-parties, now it your time to announce stuff before TGS. Capcom & Square, that means you.

I agree. I do suspect some form of digital give away to incite use of the eShop on the new console. Possibly as a pack-in incentive, just not a physical one.

Doesn't seem too interesting if the event is coming from NoA. Price and date had to come sooner or later, but it's pretty clear that Reggie is simply going to talk about the same shit as the last two E3s all over again when it comes to games, so it's pretty unnecessary to look forward to that imo.
Iwata needs to announce his typical fall conference, there'd be a last chance of proper announcements before launch. |

They want to be competitive. Keep in mind, the current consoles manufacturers could very easily slash their prices (which is all but a guarantee at this point) right after Nintendo announces their price. They want to position themselves between the current crops cost and the next generation of release by Sony and MS which are supposedly next year. $249 gives them a price that is reasonable to consumers and can likely still turn a small profit.

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.

249$ is the same price as the 3DS was at launch. Surely they won't sell both at the same launch price.
