Should also patent this jazz for touch screen :/
Move will unlikely be big enough for this, unless sony gives us free games to play, for playing the ads. |

It wasn't a "Use AR Mode to continue game" kind of thing, but Sony did release an AR Resistance Monument app.

I've seen video ads like this before. They'll air the add and give you a quick Q&A that you have to correctly answer to progress.

Just thought about something. with the cloud based gaming commercials can be demos of real games , that you could buy right from the ad if you like the game.
say you are watching a Football game the commercial can be Madden & it bring you right into the game to do a few plays before the Football game come back on & give you the option to buy Madden after the play. that would be a lot more effective than the commercial we have today. |

HDMI pass-thru with overlay and interception of the XTV data stream that's part of the video stream. Edit: or an external tuner and Clear Cable or Over the air digital tuner connected to a home network playing through a PS3. Problem is most cable companies now scramble all signals/channels so HDMI pass-thru is needed. So Sony in 2010 had plans for a PS3 with HDMI Pass-thru and the Xbox 361 in the 2010 Xbox 720 powerpoint leak to be released 2012 Christmas season supported XTV and had HDMI pass-thru. XTV-HDMI pass-thru implies power modes. Anyone want to bet on the PS3 4000 chassis having HDMI pass-thru.

Also saw on your blog that you were surprised I wasn't more excited by finding the 56 page Xbox 720 powerpoint. You were "bouncing off the walls". I've had the same feeling about some of your finds, "doesn't he know what he found!!!!" <grin>. For the powerpoint it's what I expected and as I commented, the Fudgezilla leaks had that powerpoint as a source and they were "leaking" a little at a time. It's how I found the powerpoint, with key words in the Fudgezilla leak. Oh, this Vizio $99 box has HDMI pass-thru: Vizio Co-Star Review: Hands-On With Vizio’s New $99 Streaming Box 8/2012 ![]()

The original post is about XTV or X-tended TV. This is a link (link now broken https://doc.telin.nl/dsweb/Get/Document-14793/ ) to a 2001 study on what's coming as well as some cites from that study to interest others to read the study.
Quote:
The h.264 & h.265 + 4K and 8K broadcast (cable and Satellite to support first) ATSC 2.0 and ATSC 3.0 are bringing a massive number of new features for 1080P TVs. ATSC 2.0 is now starting to be implemented. First part now seen locally in the US (Behind Europe with DVB) for over the air is non real time transmission (NRT). Then comes 1080P and 3-D using h.264 (by first quarter 2013) which cable and Satellite already support. ATSC 2.0 descriptions and example screen shots (includes game Page 27 & 28) Also see another onQ123 thread on a Sony patent about playing games during commercials. OnQ123 should put those NBC examples on the OP. National Association of Broadcasters Powerpoint on Next Generation TV National Association of Broadcasters on ATSC 3 (we are currently ATSC 2.0 but some of the ATSC 3.0 features are coming soon to ATSC 2.0) Modern Smart TVs can receive and use ATSC 2.0 but most of the 1080P TVs and older 720P/1080i do not have the ability to support the h.264 codec. My best guess is Sony with their DVRs and Microsoft supporting HD Home Run tuners will support Xbox 361 and PS3 becoming a set top box to support ATSC 2.0. Next generation Xbox 720 and PS4 can do the same with ATSC 3.0 and downscale 4K broadcasts. Besides supporting a 1080P or 4K screen the standards can be used to stream 8-16 video channels over one 6 Mhz wide RF channel. Multiple monitors to support a game is also possible.

so who's going to use that Bear with a DS up his arse as an avatar?
edit- on a serious note however, I remember that MCDONALDS! \o/ patent from last year, does this mean Sony is holding back some info like HDMI pass through? similar to what Microsoft wants to do with their system?
