Too much angst, I suppose. Let's take this to the next level. |

Regardless, I like the more varied aspect of the songs found within, anyway, as opposed to the samey-ness of Plastic Beach (I still love Plastic Beach, though. Plastic Beach Rhinestone Eyes, Melancholy Hill, and Empire Ants are all fantastic ) |

Plastic Beach and Demon Days are both fantastic. I'm not sure which one I enjoy more, but Demon Days should have made the list for sure. |

Nope. It's a goddamn masterpiece. Lack of it completely degrades this list. I guess no nineinchnails fan visit Pitchfork after their shitty useless reviews and their journalistic erection towards everything Radiohead.

Twas good to see Modest Mouse getting some love high up in the list. I do think We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank should have been on the list, but I understand the hardcore fans like the earlier stuff better, and The Moon & Antarctica is a fantastic album in its own right.
I sort of agree. I've tried listening to their stuff (as I feel I should, being a Columbia native), but could never get into it. It's too slow to be epileptic madness, and too manic to be easy, chillax ambient music. |

If you're making music, it's either going to be self-important, or it will be about putting your hands in the air or getting drunk. If it's really, really bad, it'll be both.

Easily his best? No way. Michigan destroys Illinois. It's more personal. Illinois could do without about 20 minutes. It's too fucking long.

Actually when I look at the long list hip-hop gets a pretty good showing considering that this is probably voted on almost entirely by groups of pleasant middle-upper class white people. |

I didn't vote since I don't use Facebook or Twitter, but my list would probably be something like this:
1. Radiohead - Kid A 2. Animal Collective - Spirit They're Gone, Spirit They've Vanished 3. Stereolab - Emperor Tomato Ketchup 4. Boards of Canada - Music Has The Right To Children 5. The Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin 6. The Olivia Tremor Control - Black Foliage: Animation Music 7. Massive Attack - Mezzanine 8. The Microphones - The Glow Pt. 2 9. Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights 10. The Fiery Furnaces - Bitter Tea I only listed one album from each band, otherwise OK Computer would have been up there as well. |

As a whole I could maybe see Michigan being more consistent start to finish yes, but his best work was done on Illinois even if there is some stuff in there that we could do without.

You're about as unique as any Justin Bieber stan. TMV is not very popular with Pitchfork, so, unsurprisingly, it is also not very popular with the readership they attract. Not that they have any relevancy past Tremulant/Deloused. |
