No way is Summerteeth a better album than YHF.

Edit: De-Loused in the Comatorium is godly. Definitely surprising to not see it in the top 200.

The Mars Volta mostly sucks. The first album is great and underappreciated, but even if you're into their sound and philosophical tone, you have to agree that most of the albums have big chunks of aimless bullshit.

Johnny Cash didn't realy release very notable albums the last 15 years. The American Recordings albums are more miss than hit IMO.

Sufjan's not bad, but a little milquetoast for me. If you like NMH, The Glow Pt. 2 is probably a better album to try if you haven't heard it.

Anyway, it's weird seeing people's reactions in this thread. There were No Surprises (heh) at the #1 or anything else on the list really (except Drake I guess; the fuck?). Keep in mind, this isn't a single person's list but the average of thousands of people's lists, so of course it's safe and bland. All the quirks have been averaged out. I doubt many individuals put three goddamn Radiohead albums in their top ten, but -- shocker! -- Radiohead is pretty popular and some folks are crazy enough to consider In Rainbows better than their other work.

I saw them live once and it was literally the worst live band I've ever seen.

And I've been to Warped Tour.

It's okay though, cause they were opening for A Perfect Circle.

So in one night I got to see the worst live band open for on of the best.

Lyrically it's a mess. Especially compared to the bite of pretty hate machine or broken. TDS at least had a consistent theme to hide some of the weaker writing.

Buddy, I am with you. I'm always surprised at some of the lackluster reception it gets on GAF.

After their direction shift with Kid A, it was great that they could come back with a record that was more accessible and personal.

Three Radiohead albums is a bit much. That said, they are all amazing, especially Ok Computer and In Rainbows. Sufjan Stevens' Illinois and Arcade Fire's Funeral are definitely outstanding as well.

I think there's a decent amount of rap, even if Kanye and Jay consist of half of it, on the list all things considered. Madvillains high up and it's good to see a group like Clipse on there at all.

Kayne consists of 9 (including WTT) and Jay of 3 (including WTT), I think Kanye makes up more than half of the list.

Frances The Mute by The Mars Volta is a deservedly highly-praised album. I haven't really loved any of their other albums, but they always put out at least a couple of cool songs on each.
