Yeah, I think it is a good compromise. Not everyone wants to buy their phones at Notre Dame.

I'd say that the .8" sensor is far more important than the sampling algorithm. Mirrorless cameras using 1" sensors have equal to or higher IQ without any oversampling. I'd have no problem if they kept the sensor size the same but only included 12 milion pixels.

I just want this thing to "have it all". I'll be buying outright, but I'd still like to have it for st least 2 years. |

Right now, I think that Tmobile is rumored to get the Arrow, which looks like the middle option. I'm not positive if they'll actually do this. So much wasted oppurtunity not debuting your flagship on all four. |

this man understands. it's all about sensor size. hopefully, this new 21mp sensor is just as large as the 42mp.

The "Things are about to change" highly suggests a Pureview WP8 no?

I think they are implying that the next Nokia will be more copy-worthy then the point release Apple has cooked up for us this year.
But again, they never outright stated anything. It's a friendly jab from a flailing company. |

I really am looking forward to Nokia's WP8 lineup. I do like their phone design, even though their hardware isn't quite all there, they stuck too long with Symbian, killed MeeGo too early and WP7.5 ain't all that jazz.
The Ativ S does look nice in that conventionally Samsung kind of way. And the hardware is pretty good - it's basically a US Samsung Galaxy S III. That IFA conference though...

Either way, I'm not getting the 41 MP I desire :/ ... let's change the thread title now before we get overrun by people trying to make this thread about Apple and Android. |

Subbed. This is pretty much what I've been waiting for - the first Apollo offerings from Nokia and Samsung.
You could call the thread "The official thread of not making this about Apple and Android" and you'd get the same result. |

Do any of you guys have any clue why Nokia and Microsoft are going to be holding this event together? or is that even still happening? |

I love the teaser with the girl on the bike. Nokia really makes nice and pretty adds.
If they keep the awesome style of Lumia ther WP8 device will be my next smartphone. I've recently had to return to a dumbphone for a week, which allowed me to take a good hard look at what I actually use phone for..ie..not for some fancy apps. Everything I need is on WP7 already, so it's all about interface, camera and phone design..in each of those three I don't see anything that will be able to compete with WP8 Nokia devices. |
