I want to see if my UDID is listed too, but looks like you have to decrypt it? Too lazy

So we should change our Apple ID?

I am assuming the only reason they released any information at all was to prove the story right?

I'm not an advocate for hacking the FBI, but why the fuck did they have this info in the first place?

They weren't even smart enough to encrypt it? It was on the desktop? Really? I'm not sure if it's a case of being inept or perhaps just ignorant, but either way this should scare the shit out of anyone that owns a computer, phone, game console, you name it.

What are the chances that the FBI is using Apple as the world's largest listening post?

But what does it prove? I asked on the previous page how they show that the datafile originated from the source they claim it does. I'm not saying its not true, but just because they release a file full of Apple user data and claim its from the FBI, I'm not sure how that proves they got it from the FBI.

Well, I would say it goes a long way to prove it if those IDs are correct. I'm having trouble thinking of anyone else that would have a list of even just a million devices (aside from Apple, obviously) Also, it would be proof for the FBI, if in fact they have such a file.

I wouldn't post my UDID in public. Just PM the person if you trust them, or download the file yourself. Its not too hard.

It's less useful than an email address, or even my Steam ID, which I freely share here.

Well, their pastebin was quite interesting to read, with some funny remarks and some nice citations; bonus points for opening the wall of text with a Salman Rushdie quote.

Yeah it was a good read. Informed me of a lot of stuff I didn't know, like Jack Henry Abbot, Indians and Manhattan and some killed hackers

From that link Wario posted, it's possible that it's old information as it sounds like selling UDID information was something that happened frequently until fairly recently.
