Sega brings Rhythm Thief to iOS
#1
Sega put up their TGS 2012 page today, and it seems to have let slip an unannounced title - they're bringing Rhythm Thief to the iOS platform. Their TGS site is "down" at the moment, so here's the screen capture:

Okay in Japan and bombed everywhere else - like some many titles. I always wondered why publishers wouldnt price their content lower, when they know that the games will bomb... but at this point they probably dont care, since many games can be ported to mobile plattforms a couple months later.

It's no wonder the game sold out immediately and is so hard to find. To put things in perspective, Panzer Dragoon Saga and Shining Force III shipped more US copies than that. |

Would have been way smarter releasing it last year on 3DS, at least.
Releasing it the same week as Theatrhythm was just silly. Neither game was going to do great, but for people in the mood for a 3DS rhythm game, Rhythm Thief was not the more alluring option. |

I think Rhythm Thief should get more attention, most certainly. It's a flawed game for sure, but it's very fun and has a few SEGA IP cameos in terms of the kinds of rhythm minigames there are. |

The thing that puzzles me here is that release was a few months after the one here in Europe, it's like they went out of their way to time the release as awkwardly as possible.

Demo was nice, but not worth $29.99 (especially considering I had just bought Theatrhythm). $10 or less and I might pick this up, but wouldn't it be extra easy to release this on the EShop as well? Might have got some extra sells there too.
