Define tolerating religious people. Does it mean not arguing with their ideas about god? Does it mean not telling them they're wrong when they suggest evolution doesn't happen? Does it mean never calling out beliefs some find absurd? Because none of that is intolerance of a person.

I didn't realize all people of faith of this forum are just hatefull fundamentalists. I remember reading in the is GAF to strict thread that mods said over and over they try and make GAF a place where EVERYONE can feel welcome. But hey, I guess if you have a religious faith it's ok to get shit on here. Like I said, the double standards are amazing.

Laughing at an image that openly and unmistakably mocks a figure sacred to a person's beliefs would be intolerant IMO. It means you think that their beliefs are worth nothing and should be laughed at.

How come you can't separate a person from their beliefs?

If you thought the world was flat, you can still be a good person. You're just coming to an irrational conclusion based on the evidence at hand.

Yeah, that's pretty much how it is. But it's not intolerant, because GAF said that people of religious faith are to a persecuted minority. So it's cool if they call you an idiot for what you believe. Or something.

The picture is still spot on, and The Onion speaks the truth.

Religion is based on intolerance. Let's not forget how believers scoff at other religions too. Additionally, beliefs are worth nothing unless there is some rational reason to hold that belief. I can make up a belief right now, that doesn't make it worth anything, or sacred to me. Scientology is universally laughed at, but they demand just as much respect. Will you think it intolerant to mock Scientology as if Scientology had any worth?

Do you think Jesus of Nazareth as depicted in the Bible would want you to hurt someone for mocking him? (Hint: Matthew 5:38)

Passive aggressive threats have no place on this forum, btw.
