It's really not. That's a stupid comment.

A violent, fanatic mentality and their disastrous social conditions are the causes of this problem, not a hipster on NPR.

...

I get it, this isn't what most muslims do, but where are the people withing the muslim community openly condemning this behavior? Haven't seen any of that.

you might be on to something. in an interview with someone who was connected to the movie in its early stage, it is claimed the man behind the movie went to Egypt to raise money.

Quote:
Something I don’t quite understand is that you said there’s a possibility that some extremists got ahold of the film when he was trying to get financing and dubbed it. Is that hearsay? Is it just a hunch you have?

That’s just my, you know, story of, you know, my fiction. I created that. I don’t know anything about that. He didn’t tell me that. He just told me he was in Egypt trying to raise money. So if you’re trying to raise money, you usually show part of the picture and then people say, “Oh yeah, we’ll give you what you want.” So I guess that’s—my guess is, that’s just a guess, that’s all it is.

Most Muslim Scholars on Arabian Media are condemning both the Movie and Violence some even used some of the Prophet sayings to show that killing diplomats is a Sin but most of Muslims don't know these things especially the Arabic Spring Countries.

That's because you haven't been looking for it. There were a large amount of peaceful protests in the wake of the initial attacks, and they've been covered on all the news outlets.

Furthermore, I don't know why Muslims, as part of one of the largest religions in the world, should be expected to apologize everytime a fuckwit uses their religion as a springboard for violence. People are stupid and gullible worldwide, but I don't have time to apologize for my species.

Anyway cases like this or Fitna or dutch caricatures show the real face of Islam.

More like the face of idiots easy to offend and who lives in third world countries of Middle East and North Africa.

I have yet to see any sort of violent protest here on Canada, and there is plenty of muslims living here.

Again, these attacks probably aren't connected with any protests despite what officials say. The Sinai has been under almost constant bombardment for months.

So when is someone going to get around to linking the other thousands of anti-Islam and anti-Mohammed videos from Youtube? Let alone the hundreds of thousands of websites and forums. Maybe the Middle East will just implode at that point.

This might be an over reaction at this point. Increase security and if things don't cool down then go ahead and pull out. Though it might be a great idea to evacuate the diplomats discretely but still keep the embassies "open" so as not to show any sign of giving in to extremist demands.

This 'film' is full of lies, slander and hate. An obvious attempt and at sowing sedition among people. I am absolutely against this rubbish. It serves no purpose other than trouble. As a Muslim I stand against any offense to The Prophet.

Having said that, killing innocent people half way across the world who had absolutely nothing to do with the film is absolutely atrocious and unacceptable. Setting fire to embassies and establishments is idiotic. Burning flags and effigies is ignorance.

There is a minority of hardcore extremists who keep fucking things up for everyone else. It's up to the leaders to put a stop to these mad men and bring back a sense of rationality to the world..

I'm saying it'd be more effective then their embassies, i would never condone violence. I also think burning down american fast food chains would be more effective then american embassies. Again, i dont condone it, and I think the grease fires would probably be pretty dangerous.

Anyways, I'm starting to think that muslims are the hipsters of the religious world.

They say that no one understands them, calls themselves a religion of peace, then acts violent.

Now hipster, they say no one understands them, claims to be original, then goes out and buys the exact same thing everyone else buys.

And yes I get that there are moderates in the muslim world, but the fundies are the ones who are most vocal, and if the moderates do nothing to exile/dissociate these fundamentalists then they're just as bad. Just like in bullying, if you watch and do nothing you're just as bad as the bully right? It's sad that the muslim world keeps trying to inject their values on the west with notions of sharia law, but why aren't these murders being punished by the religious leaders? Where is the justice of their law system?

Are you trying to be funny?

Non-violent Muslims have done plenty to disassociate themselves. Your point is tired and suggests that you don't pay much attention to the Muslim world outside of when they entire the "US Agenda" (as in, when violence occurs).

And the hipster/muslim connection...smh

Speaking as someone who has seen it (and wholeheartedly favors blasphemy in all its forms), I can safely say that this is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. We're talking "The Room"-bad.

Obviously doesn't justify violent reactions, but let's be reasonable here.
