You have to use Google to find any of those, since the site is just a clusterfuck of nested menus.
That's the problem. The site DOES use Google. And it still doesn't work well enough to return the logical choices. If you search for Kickassia it will return a bunch of unrelated links along with the 6 parts to the video in the wrong order when it should be returning exactly what you need. Also, you will sometimes see an entry for a reviewers video on the home page that you can't find later when you go searching for it manually in the place it should logically be. It's ridiculously designed and laid out and dare I say it, the worst designed functional web site on the internet. Plus for some stupid reason it relegates its results into a small sliver on the right side of the page with nothing on the left in the content area. The results I get for the above are as follows: Part 01, Commentary, Part 02, 5 Seconds, Part 06, Commentary (again?), Trailer, Part 04, Part 05, Part 03. And that's just the first page.
Hire someone to fix it already, Doug! Who does, or rather did, the website to begin with? Even Cinemassacre and GameTrailers (As mentioned) redesigned their previously clunky sites to be much better recently. I want to hope they have a new design in store or something. I mean it'll be what, 5 years this year and it's still the same design it was then? Back when they didn't have nearly the same amount of reviewers.
Another problem is they have so many reviewers that have so many separate sub-characters/series' it makes it even harder. For instance, Brad himself has the Snob, but he also has '80s Dan and Brad Tries and Brad's Current Movie Reviews. Lindsay actually employs other people for her alternates but they all filter under the same Team Chick heading. Todd is easy as he just has Pop Song Reviews and One Hit Wonderland, both of which are kept simple and similar to each other. Same with Matthew who generally just does Bad Movie Beatdown and Projector. But then there's Doug himself who has done the Critic and the Bum, two completely separate types. And both have their own section on the main page. Even though Critic is now done and the only new videos going into that list now are behind the scenes stuff every few weeks.
I think every separate person/team should have their own thumbnail on the main site. Every one of them. All organized by popularity. But every single one would be shown. Then under it, when you click it, have it expand and show everything they've uploaded in order by newest. Along with the category it belongs under. When you click to go to their page. Instead of a useless sub list of categories that doesn't really tell you when something was added (Some of them have categories they haven't uploaded to in years) make it more useful. Show us every category with every video each one has, ordered by last upload. Make the site more useful, guys!
Anyway you guys should watch Cinderella 3 - even before Chick said it I always believed it's one of those diamond in the rough.
It really is great. She can surprise when she wants to. She picks the best choices. And I don't even care if she was originally hired to be the female nostalgia equivalent. Once she started moving into Doug's territory it got so much better. Almost like he hired her to be his apprentice and replacement way back when.
Plus their new media player that uses does not work half of the time. Hence I don't visit as much now.
I don't have that problem. It always works for me. I just wish it wasn't so inconsistent. Older videos use the old style, but new ones use either one that auto-plays the next video or just shows a list of related videos in the series. I wish you could globally turn off the auto-play. Actually, their player works 100% more consistently without extra buffering than YouTune itself does for me. And I watch a LOT of internet videos. Their player, and actually pretty much all non-YouTune players, work pretty well for me.
I remember when I first heard of the site back when the Nerd brought it to everyone's attention calling him a "ripoff" that ended up culminating in an epic battle when it became obvious that it was set up. Which I'm glad because I like that they are friends and not actual enemies. But the battle stuff in the first Anniversary video was pretty darn awesome at the time. I didn't know who any of the other people in the video were at the time, and a lot of the people they employ now weren't even hired way back then. And some have even left since.
I assume they're done with anniversary movies now as last years took forever to finish and pretty much closed the door on the idea. Which is good I guess for them. Let's them use the time to actually do their work. Sometimes I wish I was getting paid to do videos on the internet instead of slicing meat in a deli day in and day out. Except today since I'm off.
