For comparisons sake, Wii Sports sold 176K launch week compared to NSMBU's 170K.

And when was it confirmed for Western release in 2014? And yeah 3rd parties are at "fault" for not localizing too but on their end it makes sense, they want software sales and don't care to support the hardware itself which is what Nintendo should do, so Nintendo should work with more of them to bring their games here and cultivate the platform in a way they too will want to support more in the future. Not just for big titles like DQ.

Given the Vita troubles what would be a realistic target HW sales weekly during the holiday season. I mean is it fair to say they should be hitting at least 30k a week? |

Sure about that? GCN was also doing horribly but as far as I remember it always was relatively strong at year's end. Maybe Vita will end the year on a strong note, too.

I lost the count for the number of hw bundles enterbrain adds into software sales. |

First time after a long time I am in front of PC in time, there is complete match for sw titles, I guess correctly they'd use "Wii U" and not "WiiU" and don't run out of RAM. I think I post the thread without mistake in less than a minute, leave and when I come back 5 minutes later I see something is wrong with 3DS hw.

I hope Brownie Brown will now be free to make more 3DS games. I want to see Magical Vacation 3, or even another Blue Dragon from them, but solo (feelplus helped with BD Plus).
Or better yet, a brand-new RPG with Grezzo, both teams were behind the Mana series at SE. |

On a related note, I'm genuinely curious as to why Bandai Namco and Koei Tecmo are still so bullish on Vita. Well, not that bullish - nearly all their upcoming titles are late ports or multiplatform with one of the other Sony platforms - but certainly relative to other Japanese third parties. |

Perhaps. But it's worth noting that Capcom, Konami, and Square Enix have (AFAIK) announced literally nothing for Vita this year, and I don't think even Sega has announced anything for it in over six months, since JSR.

It is possible. They would however had plenty of time to cancel these games as well if they wanted it since we have seen the poor Vita hardware sales for a long time. I dont think they are coming just because it was greenlit a while ago. I think it has more to do with being a port (probably not too expencive in developement cost) and some deal with Sony. Maybe hardware bundles and help with marketing the games.

Almost certain some did, or rather like Bioshock, never entered development. 3DS was publically stated to have that as a potential problem and that was doing far better than the Vita was at a similar timespan.
