This will be followed by Mega Man 2 on February 7, with the rest of the games coming in regular intervals throughout 2013. You'll soon have the whole collection on one handheld!

Awesome! I bought MM1 (my very first Mega Man) off the EU eshop and really enjoyed it. There's a lack of good, hard platformers on that machine and this should cover it.

PAL-land has MM1, and yes, they're just ROMs in emulators, not 3D remakes.

Bionic Commando GB is on the 3DS VC, so that's one better than the Wii ever did.

7 is a SNES game and there isn't a single SNES VC game on 3DS...yet (and probably never)

The others would require full ports instead of dumping roms, to much effort for Capcom.

The NES and the 3DS both have the same vertical resolution, so NES games looks superb on the 3DS. No stretching at all and they fill the screen nicely. (In terms of height, anyway. They're 4:3ish, so there are black borders down the side, but that's way better than stretching them)

I keep getting the impression that Nintendo is afraid of too many portable eshop realeases at once in NA. As if it would devalue the eshop - wouldn't be surprised if NOA was blocking fast releases.
