I just read that in Japan it's all ages but the western release is 12 and over, and in South Korea it's 18+ due to there being a casino type of place in the game, and Korea is sensitive about Gambling laws.

IMO it looked fine for a 7 year old, but every 7 year old is different and as you can see above everyone has a different opinion, so only you know best.

I honestly think the steelbook from GameStop is the best way to go. This is for the US. From some reviews I've read, they basically say there's something for all ages in the game, so maybe the full game will grow on you and have parts that will interest you later on in the game. (at least that's what I'm hoping for myself haha)

Though when I look at my order status page there is a line in red text that says -

Print mags have been pretty reasonable, Edge 8/10 and I remember seeing another around that score.
