As for the unlock system, there's obviously room to go dumber. Let's not stop at vehicle unlocks, let's just unlock an entire vehicle starting with the tires. Be it a Jeep or a Jet, you start off with the tire and you have to keep capturing points using the tire until you acquire more parts of the vehicles. As for maps, they'll top BF3 where instead of shipping with two good maps, they'll just ship with no good maps. That or the franchise will just become solely an infantry combat focused shooter, because for some reason they keep catering to people who like playing nothing but garbage infantry-centric maps like Operation Metro despite the fact that the market is full of infantry-centric shooters. The franchise-ruining-train doesn't stop for Digital Illusions. |

In any case, it's funny to see Battlefield 3 look more and more like the competing franchise it's trying to be better than by trying to find a middle ground but ending up woefully mediocre as a Battlefield game. |

Literally forgot bf3 bad one until you said this
Also the CEO opinion means literally nothing. Like he's going to say a game sucks. That being said I'm sure it is awesome, but can't see it looking any better than it already does. Still going to be a day 1 purchase |

I know DICE can put together a good campaign when they want to (BC1, Mirrors Edge.) |

I'm still rocking BF3 on consoles and it's probably the first shooter since COD4 that I've played past it's first year this gen. Not the most amazing game but so solid, especially with friends. I expect BF4 for consoles to be along PC lines now and I can't wait...
If it's shown off at Sony's event tomorrow for some reason I will be one happy man |

Could it turn out that BF4 on PC looks like a true generational leap over next gen console versions that will end up looking like BF3 on high settings? |

So no, they dont need a campaign for a trailer. I bet half of their budget was wasted on the campaign :/ |

Well BF3 on PC with full ultra and 1080p uses about 1.2-1.3 GB of VRAM, and high is less than 1 GB of VRAM, so that would be pretty pathetic.

The Battlefield 3 campaign was so different than what multiplayer is like though. I remember in an interview with gameinformer they said they did that to cater to two different players. Why not have two different games for that? Also, that doesn't excuse the fact that no matter how the campaign's levels were designed, they were badly designed, along with the story, "characters", etc.

Bring back the commander, make the squad spawn system akin to Warfighter, improve AA and don't lock basic things like fucking flairs behind XP walls EA and we can talk.
Won't happen but I wouldn't be surprised if we see a 3 way fight akin to BF2 again replace China with N. Korea though. |

Hilarious that you think Armored kill is a good example of vehicle combat, when those maps are so sloppily designed that they make the CQ maps looks fun. They don't cater to anyone. The CQ combat is a mess with the client side hit detection. The vehicle combat is terribly balanced with helis being broken at this point. It's already confirmed to be modern.

I also forgot bf3 had a campaign. It was such a stinker, I didn't manage to finish it no matter how hard I forced myself, the only reason I made it a few hours in was to see what the graphics were like.
It's such a waste in hindsight, bf3 would have done with more maps, way better map design, way more polish, more vehicles etc. They would have had time for all that if they hadn't wasted so much time and money on the C grade singleplayer. |

As the other dude said - mad at vehicle regen or spawning on anyone? Play Hardcore mode: problem solved. Its the tactical gameplay that took a huge hit in BF3 - Battlefield 4 desperately needs the commander to return, and the ability to place orders on the map. It needs more means communication and coordination. No clue why this was removed from 3 but hopefully they realize their mistake, esp since it sounds like even the console versions are going to have high player counts. Teams are going to need some direction.

I liked BC2 much more then BF3. FB2 wasn't ready for prime time on consoles, the destruction, campaign, server rentals, and client side hit detection in BF3 are steaming hot garbage. It felt optimized for PC and shoe horned for consoles.
I'm more interested in what Danger Close is working on post MOH debacle. |

They need one so they can justify their price tag. |
