Does anyone have that picture of Peter Frampton making that face when Homer is about to dodge the cannonball?

No, that one when everyone is dead silent as Homer takes position.

And if anyone makes the image themselves, I'd like it in PNG, so I won't have many problems dealing with compression when making an avatar.

It's obviously their original wedding because they're all young and '70s-like. (Which was when they would have originally gotten married in 1989 time. So it was nice they didn't retcon that like they usually do and made it be the mid-'90s.)

But we don't see the chapel. Just their family and friends around them. Though in "I Married Marge" it's just them two and two witnesses in a tiny shack. So maybe they still had a reception in an actual reception hall. That's the canon I'm going with. So the tape COULD have had their wedding on it (Since some chapels do have video as an option) with the reception later but all we see is the end for obvious reasons.

So I'm putting all my cards on it being the original video. Because we can't prove it wasn't, and receptions do happen and could have easily been later on that day. I mean she is wearing the same wedding dress. Bottom line is it's definitely not from the re-marriage or the later re-re-marriage.

It wouldn't be the first time they retconned their original wedding though. In the same episode where we see the original wedding, we also see the castle she got pregnant in. And it looks nothing like the one we see later on during their still classic run.

So basically, the Simpsons Movie is a less terrible retcon than "That '90s Show" was. It's actually very kind to the show as opposed to that other episode.

The issue I have though is that we never see Marge get up and turn off the camera. But we saw her turn it on. It cuts to the reception. But it shouldn't have until someone turned off the camera. So unless the kids were there during the taping (Which I can't see them being allowed since it's so emotional for her) then it magically turned itself off. I hope someone got fired for that blunder!

My confusion was that I thought they were married to a gambling lawyer, and the video tape in the movie implied it was a real chapel when they were dancing. It also looked like it was beautiful rather than ramshackle like in the place where they got married.

The reception is where they were dancing. Receptions are rarely ever held in the chapel where the marriage takes place. Since there's too many pews in the way. Trust me, it makes sense if you look at it as being the reception where all their friends were watching them take their first dance. So you need to suspend your disbelief and imagine that they decided to have a reception at all seeing as it was a shotgun wedding.

Either way it definitely wasn't a later wedding as their hair styles are obviously old. Plus, why would their second wedding be more important to Marge than their first?

Also, in the movie, Homer does say "We have a wedding video?" when she says she ran in to get it. So it is kinda tongue-in-cheek and the writers are kind of saying "Yeah, we're changing things slightly. Like we've never done that ever before." As if to say Homer is aware the wedding was shotgun and not planned so why would they have a record. But as I said, you never know if the chapel shack might have had a video option and Homer was just being Homer.

Ah okay, that makes more sense. Still, I always thought they never had a reception, but I guess it's a subtle hint about the "wedding video" being a tongue-in-cheek humor as you said.

Hard to say, considering that iTunes only has the first 3 seasons, 20-25, and various compilations.

I just saw the episode with Steve Carrell and I thought it was consistently funny which was surprising for a newer episode. I'm curious what other people thought of it.

My review after watching this episode when it first aired...

For what it's worth, I laughed about as much as Steve Carell's episodes of The Office. So at least he's consistent.

Ha that's funny. I actually like Steve Carrell though so maybe that helps.
