Something I noticed on playing through Survivor (I'm sure it happens on other difficulties but I didn't notice.)

Anyway, in the toy shop :

After Henry tells Sam to drop the robot and move on, Ellie sneaks around and tries to keep out of Joel's sight to pick it up when he isn't looking.

Which I thought was a really neat touch.

Yep, it's a great touch. If you time turning around just right, you can actually see her picking it up!

Just finished my first and probably only playthrough. Hard with Listen Mode turned off.

Great game, I have to say the scavenging and making use of scarce ammo and supplies in a third person shooter scenario actually worked out a LOT better than I would've thought. It was not the hurrr Citizen Kane of Gaming but it was pretty awesome and far, far more than just an "interactive movie" like some detractors have said. The tension speaks for itself through the gameplay itself, and that's just as if not more important than the stellar characters and acting.

edit: also my favorite weapon was easily the Rifle. So satisfying. The bow n' arrow was excellent as well. And I liked how mellee weapons had a health bar. Reminded me of system shock 2 weapon degradation lol

Just got back into it myself after playing around with the Uncharted 3 free DLC stuff. God damn is it fun. Week 11 atm, My Clan count is going ballistic the last few in game days. Survive a Firefly attack (completed the mission) still lose about 18 people, then I build myself back up and just had a terrible round and 1/3 of them are hungry and sick. Golfham, one week to survive and try and unlock some masks.

I still haven't finished The Last of Us (I borrowed a mate's PS3 some time ago expressly for this purpose and never got around to it), but I watched Prisoners last night (great film, by the way) and one thing that was constantly sitting in the back of my mind was how fantastic Jackman would be as Joel in a film adaptation of TLoU.

I remember seeing previews of that movie and thinking exactly the same thing, that Jackman reminded me of Joel hehe. Dead ringer.

I just can't see it. It's the voicework. I cant see Jackman doing a grizzled, beatdown southerner. Brolin however....and that's thanks mainly to No Country For Old Men.

So the DLC will probably be about Ellie and her friend, and how they became infected right?

Started playing Multiplayer a couple days ago, racked up about 10 hours since. Getting a little sick of teams not sticking together, any GAFers still playing multiplayer I could add?

Just completed my first playthrough of the game. Loved it of course. This has probably been asked before but what do you guys want from a Last of Us sequal? Would it pick right up from where this game left off? Ten or twenty years down the road? Same characters? New Characters? The game ends with Joel lying to Ellie, which seems like it is something that would be addressed in a followup game.

Personally I'd like to see the game pick up 10-15 years down the line with an adult Ellie as the playable character, and you don't find out what happened to, or see Joel until near the end of the game. Let us know what happened to Bill, Tommy, Maria.

whats also interesting is that someone in the comments on that article posted to please bring the last of us to ps4, and ND evasively replied that they should enjoy the new head items (comment + reply #17)

It looks like it yes, kind of a buzzkill for me, as I wanted to see the story go forward not backward. But whatever, it's more Last of Us, I will take it and like it.

So the singleplayer DLC is going to be $15. Might just buy the season pass on amazon since you get $5 Amazon credit if you buy the season pass there.

Just finished up NG+....goddamn that final section of the game. What an ending.

MY TLOU disc suddenly won't read... I heard it trying to spin up but didn't think much at first. heard it kinda clunk and struggle to read so I finally pulled it out and it was really, really warm. Now the surface of the disc looks odd & rainbowish. No other discs having issues or look like that.

I tweeted at Naughty Dog & Playstation but haven't heard back. Options? Ideas?

Just beat the game for the first time, what a ride. I don't want them to milk the franchise but would definitely love to play a sequel.

Kudos to Naughty Dog and the team, beautifully crafted game.

It's a shame they didn't include this track in the OST. It's from the scene where Ellie kills David.

Felt like playing this game again out of the blue today for only an hour or two...ended up playing it for 4 hours. I've rarely played games again this generation but I think this is one game that will keep drawing me back. Soooo good

Finished this, finally. Fantastic ending. Overall I felt like the game was just bit too long. A handful of sections could have been cut without affecting much of the experience. I'm talking gameplay sections not story sections. Story, characters and acting were THE best I think I've seen in a video game. It's not cheesy at all the say its a high water mark for the medium. I never do this but I decided to play on hard (with listen). Shit was TOUGH for me. Definitely revived those old RE feels when you got down to two bullets and a sliver of life facing a half dozen baddies. Man. So intense.

ND games are some of the few games I find my self replaying. I'll definitely roll through this again. I was thinking I would hit up normal to search for collectibles. Just how hard is survivor? Is supply scarcity the only difference? Or do you take more damage, etc? I simply can't imagine playing survivor with no listen, unless it's your 5th time through or something.

It would be nice to platinum this but I suck at games and likely stand no chance in multiplayer.

First...let me say I've tried to look here and google...just don't know how to phrase the issue I guess so best to have someone read and respond I hope.

I've just finished TLOU on Normal.
I then went and played a Chapter on Normal to finish collecting artifacts (saved as different file).
Now I've started a new Normal Game Plus and advance to the part where you get your first health supplement...then I check and NONE of my health has carried over (I though this was a feature of Normal Plus?

Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong...I'd like to fully upgrade Joel's health and guns but nothing carried?

Are you sure you started a New Game Plus? It's been a while since I've played it, but I think you have to select your old save file when making a new game plus? Sorry if I'm mistaken.

I started a New Game and saved over my old save, so I can no longer start a New Game +, which sucks. Do I have to beat the entire game again to start a New Game +? Because that would be annoying.

Also how much harder is the game on Survivor than on Normal? Is it just that supplies are more scarce, or do enemies hit harder/have more health as well?

Im going through my first Survivor run right now as well, and to me, it seems easier than my normal run. I think the enemies do take off more health but even if you get low, Ellie just hooks you up with a health kit.

Enemies hit a bit harder, and you have much less supplies. That's the only difference that I can tell.

You can't really craft shit too often, and can basically never make nail bombs, upgraded melee, or use any shivs if you want to open shiv doors.

Yeah. You will go through the entire game yelling, "WHERE THE FUCK ARE ALL THE SCISSORS?"

You could also have a particularly rough run like I did. I've only done Survivor once so far, but in my run other than bricks, bottles, story related weapon pick-ups, and the safe by the car in Bill's Town, there were NO supplies in Bill's Town OR Pittsburgh. It was rough. And even then, bricks and bottles didn't respawn, and about half of the shiv doors I was able to open turned up empty.

As far as I can tell from what other people have told me, this either isn't normal, or has since been patched right?

Huh. I swear there were respawning bricks/bottles in my playthrough. Brick + Melee sprint was how I took out most of the enemies.

Well....I wasn't expecting that ending, and...but still, what an amazing game! Is the DLC worth it? I just have to buy the season pass and I have everything right?
And about that "new game plus", what is this about? Same story but harder?

Yep, only one ending. The more I thought about it, the more I liked it. The Season Pass gets you everything, but only the first DLC is out right now. The single player DLC comes out soon. You also get the making of documentary, which is well worth watching.

New Game Plus allows you to start over but with you keep your upgrades to Joel and his weapons. However, you won't get the weapons until you acquire them in the story as before, but they will have whatever upgrades you got for them in your first playthrough. The difficulty is increased a bit to balance out the upgrades.
