They'll probably warn you about spamming first. You can make as many posts as you want about the subject since it's not against the rules in any way but constantly posting the exact same thing might be considered spamming.

Sorry, I should have explained myself more.

Obviously I want the lowest amount of import restrictions possible. However I've noticed that Nintendo is an incredibly conservative company, and region locking could be seen by the higher-ups as getting them more money (maximizing profits in each region).

Thus my workaround charges gamers a small fee in exchange for getting conservative companies like Nintendo or Atlus (see Persona 4 Arena) on board.

Won't it be funny if Nintendo does absolutely nothing. The company that claims to be for the gamers and games only and is there to put a smile on people's faces.

At least I'd laugh a bit. wouldn't mind a region free three dee es.

It seems like a few people are bombarding Miiverse with region unlocking posts. As in, daily posts to the same community and that sort of thing. I'd advise against that. Post only a few times and post to different communities (unless you're drawing something). As new people get interested in this topic, they'll keep up a supply of new posts on their own.

If you notice someone doing this, feel free to warn them about it.

Fewer posts with higher Yeah counts show off the unique users that are interested in this. Nintendo can look at the popular posts section and see that several people have made it there based on their #endregionlocking posts. That's what we should want them to see. A larger amount of posts from the same users suggests that this is just spamming from a miniscule number of users.

Most people are doing things right, it's just a select few that are going overboard.

I don't suppose many of you remember Sony's crusade against import stores back in 2006?

They sued Lik-Sang out of business and threatened many others (Play-Asia stopped posting to out-of-region). They claimed it was to protect consumers from buying HK units which "didn't conform to strict EU or UK consumer safety standards", which we all know is BS; HK units were quite cheaper to import over buying UK/EU. Yet recently they seem to have backed off, I'm not really sure what changed, maybe the sales figures weren't as affected as they thought once importers stopped? Maybe they were advised it was bad PR?

I would love to know why Sony went from crazy controlling to embracing region free.

Is there some sort of magic update that could make it region free? Or would they have to reproduce new hardware? I obviously want region free gaming (I love you, Jump Ultimate Stars) but is it really something Nintendo can do with their current hardware?

All evidence points to the region lock residing in the software. The hardware is supposedly identical regardless of the location, so it appears that a change in the firmware could unlock any restriction currently imposed in that regard.

It really isn't cheaper for the most part as the import tax that often comes with it usually makes it either about the same price, or more expensive.

Nintendo is probably the last company I expect to listen to feedback like this. But MS backpedalling does give me a little hope.

That joke aside, can someone please remind me WHY this anti region locking campaign has suddenly started? Not that I don't see the worth in it, on the contrary, but I find the timing to be curious so far into the 3DS and Wii U's lifespan.

Is it because Microsoft recently reversed their stance on region locking and Nintendo is now the only company left to (so far) keep maintaining their old stance?

Well, the first tine they went digital when they went to region-lock on the handhelds. Surely a correlation.

In the mean time they allow foriegn cards, so not sure what it accomplishes. PS3 meanwhile began digitally completely open then tamped it down. Crazy.
