anyone know a way to lock any launcher screen layout? my mother is a little disaster and while she can use her android smartphone , looses some widgets/icons every now and then. She is using a xperia phone.

I know some launchers have the option to lock , but she is confortable wth xperia iu and does not like changes very much . Thanks!

I synchronised my contacts from google, and most have really dated profile pictures. I've merged the contacts with their facebook contacts, but it still uses the old pics instead of syncing to the facebook ones. Is there a way to change this?

Thanks for the app, seems to sync only some contacts for some reason.

You guys remember when you'd be chatting with someone on Talk and decide to call/email/sms them? So you'd just tap their profile pic and get the quickaction bar. Those were the days!

I'm so glad I can see everyone's G+ profile so quickly now.

Sorry to double post guys but I mentioned earlier that the Carphone Warehouse (massive UK phone shop) have removed the Nexus 4 from their site, well I just got off a live chat with someone asking why and, after a delay of them getting back to me, said that it looks like the phone has been discontinued.

This has happened once before at CW, just before I/O when some people expected the N5 to be shown off. Coincidence?

This is good, more competition. Qualcomm's basically monopolized the entire market which can't be good for anyone.

So we have some gaming side like reporting going on now on the Android sites.

Samsung did 20 million of SOMETHING with the Galaxy S4.

As we all know from Gaming-GAF though that shipped and sold are two different numbers. Depending upon which Android site you visit you might get a headline that says shipped or one that says sold.

No, it was that the S4 isn't selling as fast as Samsung had projected internally, but still slightly faster than the S3. I also don't think the S4 will have the same longevity as the S3 because the Android competition is much stronger this time.

I once bought a Laptop 'made in EU' where everything else was mostly China/asia already, and I thought 'oh great something made in Europe'. Huge mistake.

It depends on your friends privacy settings. But most of the time, it should work unless your friend locked down their profile like crazy.

The privacy thing also determines if it uses high res photos or not.

I think he found ways to circumvent some of this in the latest update. At least that's what I got out of the release notes.

I thought the same thing regarding the Motorola X1 picture. Looks like an X1 being made to me. Cool. I guess it's Moto's Galaxy S3, S4, etc.

I suspect the design to just be aesthetics. I'm surprised a rumor existed about processor, RAM, etc. I'll eat crow.
