I just saw a japanese portion of the game which had what looked like a movie and subbs, but with my past experience with Atlus games I prefer to double check.

Deal was leaked early and got removed. Probably saving it for next week when SMTIV is out

I hate it when games require me to first complete them on normal difficulty before "allowing" me to play through them once more on hard. I remember SMT III making hard mode available from the beginning.
I'm more or less in the same boat as you, and I'm of the perspective that I know I'm going to play this game (Nocturne + Portable = so good) so I might as well get it now with the eShop credit and the preorder extras. It might have to wait a while, but its time will come.Great OP!
I've been seriously vacillating whether or not to preorder this game. Actually, I keep preordering and cancelling my preorder. I honestly don't have time to play this game, and when I do have time to play, it's Animal Crossing, VLR, Luigi's Mansion DM, or Fire Emblem Awakening just to name my recent backlogs. I don't want to miss out on the goodies, since $50 is the MSRP with and without them.
I'm really hoping that Amazon makes it go on sale sometime in the near future (Luigi's Mansion is $30 right now).
Since I bought FE:A on eShop day 1, I'm hoping I am eligible for the $30. It would be a great incentive to bite right away. I'd use it for Pokemon Y digital.
Maybe I'll just buy it and only start playing it like by the end of the year?

C'mon, Atlus. That's a rookie mistake.Easy is available after dying twice in the game. Hard is only available post-completion.

Also, contrary to popular belief, the Canada eShop is not 100% the same with the US eShop. I've been noticing some slight differences on pricing for some games, but not really noticeable or a big issue.Why wouldn't you get the 30 dollar credit? I won't spoil anything for y'all. Ill just say for me, it's a great game, and lived up to all the hype for me. The timing of the "cool" announcement really sucks. If they have a $30 credit for eshop only, it would be nice to give some room before release to cancel retail pre-orders and shit.
I was in your boat until I played Nocturne, now I love all of them. Honestly if you liked P3 and P4 then you'll love a mainline game. It's like talking all the straight-up battle mechanics of Persona and blasting them to an amazing degree of customization and experimentation, without losing accessibility. Cancelled my pre order since I don't have time, funds, or that high of interest (never played a game in the series). I'll play it eventually (hopefully it becomes cheaper at some point).
Day One. I've got so many games to play on my 3DS, but this will take priority over everything else.
I cant see Nintendo giving people 30 credit for registering two physical copies...but damn if they do, digital Luigi here I come.
EDIT: The book is a little smaller than I thought it would be, and same for the soundtrack track list (past CD releases have had much more if i'm not mistaken, looking at Nocturne, had like 33), but I cant wait for the limited edition.
I'm alot more open to using hint books than I used to be.

I have guarded expectations but I'm starting to get excited.
I have SMT4 preordered, but that preorder is getting cancelled if the eShop credit deal is digital only AND applies to digital copies of Fire Emblem purchased back in February. I'll take $30 over an artbook and soundtrack.
