That's it then, I'm trading in my DS for one of those. The only reason I even got a DS was because the screen was so much better looking. I was thinking of getting a Micro, but now that the SP is back-lit, I can get the larger screen and good lighting. How much is a DS worth trading at Gamestop or EB? I hope it's worth at least $50.

As John R. has said, this is the PERFECT GBA SP...
It's great in size, screen, portability, and flip-flop design... sure no headphones and such, but the SP was awesome as it is and the reason why I didn't play some games on it was because I figured the graphics lost something on it due to the washed-out background... |

Hmm... I just had my NES SP serviced for a bad screen -- I bet I'm not lucky enough to have a backlit screen in there now, eh?
This is new news though... I don't remember hearing about this anywhere -- is Nintendo trying to softly leak it onto the market? |

I played the Micro for 10-12 minutes this evening and my hands were hurting, and I've never had a problem with playing any handheld for a long period of time. Wasn't even a thumb-intensive game -- Ultimate Brain Games. I don't get who could possibly blow $100 on this. This SP sounds like a much better option.

Not a big deal IMO.
They probably switched LCD providers, phasing out the older styled GBA LCDs they were getting for these newer backlit ones which are probably more akin to the ones they're ordering for the DS. They're probably getting a break on cost since they might be ordering them for the regular GBA SP and DS together from the same manufacturer. |
