My cookie clicker game looks like a boring grey screen. Do I have to buy some portals or something to get all the crazy grandma backgrounds or does the game hate Firefox?

I may have been using an auto clicker...There's no way you got 23 quadrillion legit with only 102m CpS in 3 days. I don't think anyone has hit 1 quadrillion legit since the game started.
Also I refreshed and got the update and... I didn't lose any of my data!
How do you get the other stuff in the store?? What's the max number of stuff you need for all the unlocks? Is it just extra fingers? Because buying cursors really screws up my browser at times.
None of my clicks or anything seemed to have carried over. Is there a release date for a final build or something?

What other upgrades can you get besides the ones automatically shown? I have 52/57 but only 2 showing, the two 999,999,999,999 +10% upgrades.
You get upgrades that pop up as you buy more stuff. Cursors get a new item to purchase for 80, 120, 160 and possibly 200? The cookie clicker game actually inspired me to learn a bit more JS, I started out doing a similar thing with a different theme/more involved items/upgrades but it started morphing into something else with a story. Sort of like A Dark Room, only, quite a bit different too. Right now i'm earning around 250 million cookies per second.
I have bought 55/57 upgrades. I only need 26 Portals and 49 Time Machines (gulp) to get to 100 of everything.

Oh fuck, a few of the achievements are going to be impossible. Not going to bother. ONce I hit 100 of everything (and 200 cursors) I'm going to quit.

Saw that a bug in one of the upgrades was fixed without changing the version number. So I refreshed... and now the version has changed. It says the "grandmapocalypse" is back, I hope it just means the different grannies, not the flashing ones.
Edit: Lots of little upgrades are added, as are the different grandmas when you upgrade, and a new item that generates new upgrades (but only a fixed set of them, I believe).
Also, it JUST occurred to me how easy it is to get the "Cookie Dunker" achievement once you have some milk. Ready? Resize the window vertically. Once it's small enough, the milk will be forced to overlap the cookie, and you get the achievement. I'm starting to think that's the intended way of getting the achievement, and it's kind of cleverly meta if so.

I'm missing 11 upgrades. I know two of them are for golden cookies, but I don't know the other 9.
I think you wait for the factory to unlock them... there's a timer for it now... like 30mins or something.

I spoke too soon. The One Mind upgrade changes all the backgrounds to Grandma images, the cookies stop dropping on the left, and the news feed changes.
I exported a save right before upgrading (the red text tipped me off), I think I'm going to revert to it.
There's a new status too: "Grandmatriarchs status: awoken"

I haven't seen a Golden Cookie since I bought "One Mind". I was relying on them to help grind the massive costs for upgrades without using a click script or something.

Once you buy "One Mind", it starts doing the satanic grandma thing again, like the old Cookie Clicker did when you started getting high numbers of cookies. so is there any kind of penalty for letting the grandmatriachs remain angered? my CpS hasn't moved.
During one update only red cookies would spawn while they're angered and they all had negative effects (reduce a percentage of your total cookies or half your CPS for a period of time). But it's been updated so golden cookies can still spawn while they're angered. I imagine it means there's now a chance for one or the other. I'm on 180 clickers and 80 time machines. Trying to think of what takes the least time to hit. Im about to just go back to wasting spare click time on porn
543m cps. I still leave it on overnight just to get ONE time machine.

This is pretty much where I'm at. 185 cursors and 72 time machines. Wasted roughly 13 trillion buying the elder pact and then rebuying it when I realized it doesn't give you something you can click freely and instead requires another 6.666 trillion to turn it back off to get my CPS back. At 80/81 upgrades and 78/80 achievements. Also have five of the shadow achievements: reset with 1 million, 1 billion, and 1 trillion cookies as well as Neverclick and Uncanny Clicker.Originally Posted by The Abominable Snowman

As nice as it is to see the numbers climb faster and faster, this is just too time consuming. I'll keep going, but I can't play this again.

What's the general opinion: grandmatratriachs awake or alseep, which gives more cookies? The 666x6 seconds cookie is a fantastic reward that I think makes them worthwhile.
I prefer them awake. Just save and export the save to your clipboard before clicking on a red cookie, restore your save if it's a bad one.
I'm really debating about using a Click Script. The game seems balanced for it at this point, especially with Golden Cookie rate increases now affecting your clicks, too.
I left it running over the weekend (untouched, since I was away), and that's about where I am at this second. The late game prices on some items just get a little too stupid. I thought I'd be able to least buy up enough cursors to hit 200, but I restored a save when I realized there was no way I was going to make it, even with something like 90 trillion cookies banked.
