It talks about if you only want to play against friends, then you will get a 12 digit "Friend Code" that you can give to your friends that you want to play Mario Kart with.
I cannot totally translate that part though, maybe someone else can help.

Ok, insanely stupid question time.
Is there any sort of device which can be plugged into a standard router to enable wifi access? Anything which is cheaper than buying a new router with wifi functions built in? (Edit: Ok, what I'm talking about appears to be a "bridge"... right?) |

I don't imagine the USB connector will be that expensive anyway, since Nintendo is emphasising that everyone can acess it. It would be like $50 max. |

Oh by the way, in Mario Kart you can choose to play against:
- Friends - Random people within your country - Random people around the world - Rivals It's interesting how you can choose to play against Rivals... I wonder how that would work.

Ok. I'm thinking the answer to my question is "no" -- there is NO device which plugs into a router and acts as a wifi access point?
I'm asking as I don't plan to leave my computer on at all hours, so the USB device is a bit annoying. I know that I can buy a wifi router, but I was hoping there was some weird little gimmick that plugged into the router and allowed wifi access. I mean, I could plug a wifi router into my STANDARD router and kludge together wifi that way... so it seems like there should be a device that plugs into a CAT5 network cable and allows WIFI access. (Edit: Excuse my extreme density... I appear to be blathering on and on about something which appears to be fairly standard... a "wireless access point". I should be able to obtain one of these, plug in into my router, set it up via a browser based interface, and then allow wireless acess! [Assuming it supports the wacky A-something or anyother thing people keep mentioning.] Right?) Last edited by DavidDayton : 10-05-2005 at 07:52 AM. |
