agreed
PS. Another think that I like more in GT than Forza... the realistic color pallete and lighting... Forza looks like toy to me.

That's the problem with a lot of these sim racers though. Ferrari and Lamborghini put a butt ton of sound dampening inside so you don't get subjected to constantly blasting decibel levels. I like the over the top, monstrous noises. Realism sucks a lot of the time lol.
Oh absolutely, technology has come a long way lol. It's just a pain to make everything on equal ground regarding sound set-ups and what-not. I wouldn't want my volume levels to keep changing based on what I'm driving, so how do you find that even mid-point? You either amplify that which shouldn't, or vice versa.agreed

I haven't played it to compare, but yeah I like that overblown sound, feels more powerful. I have a feeling Driveclubs going to be gunning for sound accuracy :(Originally Posted by NullPointer
Yup. Given a choice I'd rather have a screaming Balrog then a vacuum cleaner set to self-destruct.
Forza 4 really did spoil me. There be monsters there.
i think it should be how it is, each car should have its own unique volume, i'd hate if they nerfed the F1 cars to matcht levels of a nissan micraOriginally Posted by ChronotriggerJM

There appears to be a lot of improvement in F5's audio which is very welcome.
I'd rather they just make them all beefy lol. It's like the brightness setting in games, too much, or too little. (at least on most LCD screens)i think it should be how it is, each car should have its own unique volume, i'd hate if they nerfed the F1 cars to matcht levels of a nissan micra
Forza does give you options on what you want the sound to focus on. I think you can specify the engine, tires and maybe some other options I don't remember off-hand.Originally Posted by ChronotriggerJM

LOL but that's AWESOME. I'd drive the Nissan Micra I wished I could own. Completely un-realistic of course, but more enjoyable I'd say. Some of these modern V12 cars you can barely hear the engine at all as you drive. That's not a world I want to go to :(thats kind of what forza 4 does, but it sounds silly because stock nissan micras sound like skylines
Ugh that would drive me bonkers. I can't watch basketball games with audio on for that very reason lol. I dunno I guess I'm trying to make is that I can't really discredit a game for trying to sound more realistic, it's just not my personal preference.Originally Posted by NullPointer

DC looks nice, but I would prefer to play a next gen version of this.Originally Posted by drugstore_cowboy

I actually like using brakes ;P The sim driving model adds so much more depth and its only dull until you've learned the ways of your car and the track - then you just sort of let it unleash and see just how far you can push things.Originally Posted by Giant Panda
Yeah I don't understand that at all. I've owned both a GT and a Forza and found them incredibly dull. The arcadier the better I say! Weapons are always a great addition as well.
What bugs me about arcade racers is its all about maintaining top speed. I prefer sim racers because sometimes going slower gets you ahead. There's just more there there.
I did like Hot Pursuit's bag of tricks on the cop and racer side of things to mix things up. That and the gorgeous world to drive around in.
And Spa in GT6 will have full day/night cycles, which is where GT's lighting engine really starts to shine.Originally Posted by scandisk_

GT5 - Spa, the lighting alone maaaan. Imagine that on the PS4. smh
:(
That picture should be shared to those that think Forza 5 doesn't have any AA. Now that's what a 1080p game without any AA whatsoever looks like.I'm guessing this is in response to the Forza thread.
At least my argument that GT5 looks competitive against next gen racers is kinda validated.
The biggest problem Forza and DC have, in images at least is that GT6 is a goddam beast.
Both the latter lack art design. Forza especially still looks like a game and a HD Forza 4.
1080p and 60fps is hardly an achievement if the game looks lacklustre.
Ridge Racer 7 was 1080p and 60fps at PS3 launch and still looks an arcade beast today:
Comparing PcArs with GT or Forza is like comparing Rainbow Six with Cod or Battlefield.I really want project cars to turn out great. We really need a good multiplatform gt/forza type of racer.
If any comparisons are to be drawn, pCARS could be similar to late TOCA series. IMO it has nothing similar to structure or design of either GT or Forza except you drive cars on tracks.
That's what I expected from Forza 5, it's also why Project CARS needs to be confirmed for PS4 pronto. I know so many people who only bought a 360, and are considering a One, soley for Forza,Originally Posted by GrizzleBoy

"truthfact"
Project CARS would be the perfect sim compliment to GT6/7, on PC I was always into a couple of sims at any one time, I don't see why that shouldn't be the case on PS4. DRIVECLUB can offer a complimentary arcade experience, it all makes too much sense - make it happen Sony.
PD is reportedly putting together an entirely new sound engine, but it won't be ready for the PS3 version of GT6. If GT6 had great engine sounds, it might tempt into buying a PS3 again. As it is, I'd sooner wait to see what PD can do on PS4, it seems like their hands are tied (many times over), working on PS3.gt5 has that horrible high pitch whine why? the famous gt vacuum lol
Without a doubt the Forza series has been my favourite racing franchise. I really enjoyed PGR, but that dream died long ago. I haven't enjoyed a Gran Turismo since GT3. I tried GT5 and was heavily disappointed by nearly everything. The menus were terrible, the controller was worse for racing games, the music was awful, customisation/modification options were a joke, I hated the standard/premium concept - and I thought the graphics were a shit outside of isolated areas/situations.
That said - I know they patched and added content, and I think the game could be a lot of fun - but I'm ready for next-gen (and a new controller for Playstation). So if GT6 were coming at launch on PS4 - I'd be pumped for it... but it's not. I have zero interest in an XB1... which leaves Driveclub.
I'm hoping it can scratch the PGR itch for a while - it's certainly shaping up very nicely. I'm just a little concerned that it will be lacking in terms of content.

Then I guess it will either have to be A) a really damn good couple of gifs, or B) you post one gif that's less than 7 mb, or C) post a preview and hotlink to the larger .gif. Really, it's not that hard. :)
I guess we are just left to...ah....I guess conversate?
just curious...are there Forza Die hards who would prefer Forza to go away from the over saturated look?
and are there GT and DriveClub die hards who would prefer Sony's series of games to go away from "bland" photo realistic art direction?
I personally prefer the photo realistic look for my driving and sports games. For example I really didn't like the look EA tried to take the Madden series in 09-11. EA did the same thing to their Baseball series...where as MLB The Show stuck with the realistic look.
Also NFS: Rivals will be more fun than DC or The Crew...mark my words.
Can you use a wheel in nfs or even use interior view? Will the brakes even have use in nfs? NFS is a garbage.Originally Posted by aronmayo2

Yeah, Forza's overall car audio has consistently pissed all over GT's for years now, but with one major exception: hearing opponents around you. Even tweaking the audio settings in FM doesn't offer the same spatial awareness that GT does, something that is incredibly important in cockpit or first-person view. In GT5 I can hear opponents looking for an opening behind me, and even recognise the car from the engine note. Hell, I can even hear them changing gear. It adds to the tension tremendously. This is nowhere near as effective in previous Forzas, but with Nick Wiswell now on board from the start of development I'm hoping the audio balance will improve and become far more atmospheric, far more involving..Originally Posted by drugstore_cowboy
Prefer Forza's samples but it can come across as a wall of noise, poor use of the sub too.

With Rivals i will buy it at a cheap price EA has been horrible to support on PC even The Run on Frostbite was not optimized at all only when you put out vsync then you had 60fps but to me a lot of crashes and that is a deal breaker.
I will buy The Crew though, to me everything what i really wanted. Customization out of the wazoo to my hearts content and driving through whole 'merica? Oh man that is one of those things i wanted in racing game.
