The graphics are charming and the animations are crazy good.
I am digging the directionless approach, it feels good just getting to go where I want and play around.
Its not a Metroidvania with traditional powerups, but I did get Metroidvania vibes from it by noticing certain areas and paths I couldnt access yet, only to return a few hours later once I got the proper tools to access them. The tools werent an ingame upgrade, but my knowledge of the game mechanics, and due to the way I played the game with that in mind, it distinctively feels like a metroidvania to me.Originally Posted by PixyJunket

The boars are hilarious. Can't get enough of that little dance. And the ... Head-first approach to things.
I just kinda miss the Prince of Persia / Toki Tori time rewind mechanic. I have on several occasions botched the very last step in a series of challenges to get to a door or gem and had to restart the entire room.
Also, it's annoying that self-frying resets your collected gems in that visit to the room. Often when exploring I get all the easy stuff, see a far-off thing and try to get to it, only to get stuck. Then I have to self-fry and collect all the easy stuff again. Easy fix is to get all the easy stuff, then leave and re-enter the room so a zap will not reset them.
These mechanics have their obvious reasons for existing like that of course. Wouldn't want to have it any other way. Still, led to a few donations to the swear jar until I adjusted my play style.
Not much more to say that hasn't been said.
Thanks again Toma for putting out the word.
Thanks to Chumple and the team for crafting such a glorious little thing.
Also Pylon play Outer Wilds thanks.
I'd like to know that as well. As far as I can see, I cant imagine that since everything I've seen so far was accessible and solvable. Maybe "postgame" addition that can be accessed once you finished the first part? Would also make sense if they want to continue the story. How will the second half of the game be integrated? Just new doors opening that were closed before or what?
Alright. *rolls up my sleeves*
Price can't be beat either.
Edit: Bought it. Didn't realize there was a portal for Amazon payments. It cost $5 through their website. Looks promising!

The quality is crappy because my system cant deal very well with streaming, but you should get the idea. I am especially referring to the fact that I needed to (light puzzle solution spoiler) keep up one of those blocks 2 times over a pretty big distance, running back and forth so it wont drop and keep me from getting back again, while I destroyed some dirt a few steps away.
Yeah, alright. Just found out if you want to know:How will the second half of the game be integrated? Just new doors opening that were closed before or what?
Once you finished the "story" parts of the game, you get an item to open a door. Once you opened that door, you'll get a cute interlude and something that tells you to come back later when the second part is done.
I am at 90% now and probably played about 10-12 hours. Really good length considering its just the "first" part. Hopefully I can clean up the rest now.
That sounds good actually. I'd much rather they do it that way then integrating it into the existing worldspace forcing you to retread old ground.Yeah, alright. Just found out if you want to know:

Tried turning off V-Sync? Someone had some framerate issues earlier and that helped him.Originally Posted by NinjamicWZ

Obviously spoiler for the things I wasnt able to do, but they are all pretty tame and you might have stumbled across them already anyway:
1. The room below the boss' office on the surface. Cant make head or tails what to do there.
2. The million "?" that are linked to these altars. I know that you can interact with these altars, but it didnt do anything bigger.
3. There was a race section and I reached a point where I cant do the race anymore. Hope that didnt give any %. I wasnt able to win it during the 2-3 times I tried.
4.There is a level called "Ascent" with 2 gems (first part of the game, upper right corner on the map), I only managed to get the lower one and after walking through the level for the past 30 minutes, I got to the conclusion I simply cant do that level for now.
If anyone else has an idea/stumbled upon a possible way to the solution, let me know.
Edit: I'll probably try to do a speedrun eventually, but I am a bit annoyed I couldnt get 100% now.
She did, however, recently play through "Papers, Please" with me so maybe that tune will change.
Supports controller and KB/M. Actually I prefer keyboard for thisThis looks great. Is there controller support, or just mouse/keyboard? Seems like the type of game the girlfriend would really get into but she's not much of a "sit at the computer and play" sort of person.

And ok, Toma, I'm ready for that hint. I've had fun exploring but I still can't find the part for the drill
Dig Site, lower left corner there is a very small path running below the lowest normal path. Go down on the left, dig through those blocks and then enter that cave there. Shouldn't be too hard to find now.Originally Posted by More_Badass
I love the game starts and goes right to the game. No menu or logos.

Finally, and now a puzzle based action sequence
1. We wanted to show our game inspirations without trying to copy Metroid or Castlevania.
2. I love to hear from people who like the animations, because I made them!
3. If you're going to go after that one last hard to reach gem, try finding an inactive save point first, as recall sends you back to the last save point or door used.
4. I'm bugging a guy from playstation right now about getting us on their console, and if that happens, a vita version is not our of the question.
5. The second part of the game focuses on what is through the big half-circle door into the temple area. the second part of the game will work like a patch to the first part.
6. Many of the puzzles have multiple (and sometimes they are unintentional) ways to solve them.
7. Sorry about the framerate issues. Full Bore uses normal map lighting, which is fairly graphics processing intense. It doesn't run on my laptop either :(
8. We just broke 8,000 yest votes on greenlight. If you haven't voted yet, I would really appreciate it if you did! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile.../?id=145273589
Thanks for the questions, folks!
Thats as cryptic a hint as it could possibly get. Maybe someone else here can make more of that than me.3. If you're going to go after that one last hard to reach gem, try finding an inactive save point first, as recall sends you back to the last save point or door used.[/URL]
And I still think you should think about working on a demo, as the game basically convinced everyone of its charme once they started playing it. Good luck with the Ps3,Vita version too! I am sure it would fly awesomely well with that install base.
The game is also feels like a textbook example of coherent and player motivating game design. Its just so damn well thought out and executed, especially how each individual aspect of the game has been interwoven to create this experience. You'll really notice that once you reach about the half way point of part 1.Wow, you guys weren't kidding. This game is PRETTY incredible. Only put about an hour into it but loving it so far.
Incredibly cool idea, but whats speaking against just having the intro, surface + a few underground areas? Still better than no demo in my opinion. We've gone back and fourth about whether we should have a demo. I would like to make some new content for a demo that would tell a different story than the full game does. We're busy enough trying to finish the game, though. I like it when games have demos, so its on our radar.
Great game for a first post ;)Originally Posted by mcwizardry

I did it differently and it was actually quite easy and straightforward in my opinion - took me few tries to solve it.Obviously spoiling the solution to the level Stacking, but I am really curious if there are others who solved it differently or whether that was indeed the intended solution of that level:
http://www.twitch.tv/tomalexi/b/467319944
Yeah, "legit", but probably not the solution as it was intended as it felt rather unwieldy. As I said, thats not a negative though, I couldnt figure out the "easy" way, so its nice that I can use the game's mechanics to solve it "my" way.looks like a legit solution to me.
Nah, I think that was about my "complaint" that zapping yourself after collecting gems in a room resets the gems, meaning that a room with three gems where you collect two easy ones and have to zap yourself on the last one results in you having to get the two easy gems again. His (and my) suggestion is to grab all the easy stuff, exit and re-enter the room, and go for the hard to reach gems.Thats as cryptic a hint as it could possibly get. Maybe someone else here can make more of that than me.
It's something to keep in mind to avoid burnout.
Ah true, makes more sense. Don't know how to create a video, so I took screenshots to show how I did it: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/r21nja3wg7kzj5g/PxPx6dy6ZhYeah, "legit", but probably not the solution as it was intended as it felt rather unwieldy.
