I like when GAF tries to be artsy, it still imposes it self with some hefty rules.
A couple more World of Warcraft shots.

Playin' around with this from some old screenshots I've taken.
I really, really enjoy this filter.

10mb gif. Will take it down if it's too big.
Goddamn i wish in game would run like this.
My favorite part about this filter is after going back and painting in or out stuff I didn't like in the original. This filter is so wonderful to start quick matte paintings.

More RAGE

Can anyone post what kind of techniques and filters they're using to achieve these effects?
Space Marine and Skyrim

This is the greatest thread to have ever graced NeoGAF.
Can't believe how pretty all of these are, we need more games that look like this!

Just reposting mine from the other thread, might as well.

This is incredible, wow
These are so fun to look at (unlike the awful sweetfx filters that have been shitting up the screenshot thread for the past year and a half)

I wish my connection was up to load all the images in such threads... They take forever to render :/
A good quality/size ratio can be achieved with JPG but straight PNG is kinda unnecessary, especially when I might only really like one or two.
Guess I'll stick to discovering the best ofs via other threads lol.

Love the diversity in this thread. Keep it up.

Some of the games featured in this thread need to be remade for PS4/Xbone using the art-styles adopted in the screenshots. Capcom, EA, Naughty Dog, Rockstar and every other goddamn developer - if you're reading this, make it happen.
This shit's good.

So how realistic is it for such a filter to be worked in as post-processing effect? Could games actually look like that, with the today's generation of PC hardware?
We discussed that briefly on the last page I think... but I'm guessing it would be very difficult. I feel as though the effect takes too long to analyze the image to work its magic every frame at a decent speed. It could be optimized at the expensive of looking much worse... but I suppose the real challenge is finding someone skilled enough to code a shader that can do this in the first place. So how realistic is it for such a filter to be worked in as post-processing effect?
