LOVE this, I wish someone would implement this filter in a post processing tool for games, I would play all my games like it honestly lol.Originally Posted by EatChildren

I don't know if that's a pointless jab at me or not.... I just thought it would be a neat screenshot to try that on. I don't think screenshots are really art and applying a filter that takes a few clicks certainly isn't either. But it's all in fun.Originally Posted by Stallion Free
Look, I am so creative using a PR shot of a game not yet released. So artsy!
Nah, it was at the Killzone shots that didn't even appear to be taken from a high quality source.Originally Posted by neoenigma

Is there an English patch for B&S? I really want to play.Originally Posted by Angelus Errare

Here's some more. Gonna start fixing up the OP soon. Remember, you can use other filters, not just the Topaz one. Although Topaz is pretty nice :D
Tomb Raider

Original

This shot might not look it at first, but it's surprisingly simpler than the Original.

Naaah. That's gorgeous! I keep trying to go super simple but it hurts me to kill all of the details in some of my shots.Originally Posted by Auto-Reply

Edit:
And those BF3 shots are gorgeous as well :)Dem Crysis 3 shots, James, hnnnnnnnnnnnng

What Photoshop version are you using?Doesn't work here. When I move to another layer and press CTRL + F nothing happens. The little "Applying" bar does pop up but nothing happens to the image.
You should see the Topaz dialog pop up with "the plugin is processing the image", unless that's what you meant.
One more.
CS6 and in timeline mode the window does pop up but I still have to manually click it and then press okay. I want it to just be CTRL-F on every image to use the last setting I applied. What Photoshop version are you using?

Oh well, tried it on an old GTA IV GIF

Didn't work out that well.
Yes it did. Wow those buildings in the background.CS6 and in timeline mode the window does pop up but I still have to manually click it and then press okay. I want it to just be CTRL-F on every image to use the last setting I applied.

Hawken was made for this filter.
(Wonderful images in this thread btw.)
nbnt, that last one is great

Experimenting with some of the console shots I've been taking, resizing them to 1080p and then adding the filter kinda works for some screenshots, of course they don't look as good:

True. The game would have to be made for this type of filter for it to look good at all times. But imagining running through the grass of Skyrim or Crysis.... just wow. Those gifs more or less confirm the issue I'd expect with running this in realtime on game output (beyond the obvious implementation/performance challenge): since the algorithm looks only at images and not video, a change of a single pixel can affect the color of large areas, leading to flickering.
(Wonderful images in this thread btw.)

Also, @NBNT
Those console shots do work. I'd reccomend resizing them to something higher than 1080p first, then after applying the filter, downsampling them to 1080p. Very nice nonetheless.
Wow
That's weird. Does the last filter at least change to "Topaz Simpify" when you've applied it once?CS6 and in timeline mode the window does pop up but I still have to manually click it and then press okay. I want it to just be CTRL-F on every image to use the last setting I applied.
It should work fine without the need of configuring anything.
You can always use the Actions functionality to replicate and batch apply the filter.

Yes, it does acknowledge it's the last used but quick-apply doesn't work. That's weird. Does the last filter at least change to "Topaz Simpify" when you've applied it once?

Anyway, another GIF.

The flickering effect reminds me of an old music video, which name escapes me. It was done in a white background draw style.

I don't get it. How do I do this using Photoshop?
no way to save the edited image in the trial version?

Yeah that's one! But the other one serves as a point as well, the 'flickering effect' - I kind-of like it.

If someone wants my suggestion, Alice: Madness Returns and the ZenoClash games would look great with these filters!
On a completely unrelated note, I'm doing an informational interview in one of my college classes, and need to interview a Game Director/Designer. I was hoping I could get David Cage, but unfortunately he's inactive on Twitter and his blog. I shot an Email at his company, but does anyone know another way to get in contact with him? Or, does anyone know any other Directors/Designers I can get an interview with on somewhat short notice?
I know it's off topic, but I don't want to make a new thread for this.
