I have to agree with you : it's confusing as hell. But in the Nintendo Direct, Shibata only mentionned one CE. And the PR is weird... why mention a regular CE if you haven't even announced it yet?

So my guess is, there really is only 1 CE, and it's the one revealed yesterday.

To be clear, here's what the PR says :

1) you buy the game alone at GAME, and you also get an artbook.
2) you buy the game alone anywhere else, you just get the game
3) you buy the CE at GAME, you can also get the artbook
4) you buy the CE at ShopTo, and you only get the CE.

Shit, really? I might just go with the regular version then. I mostly care about the artbook and soundtrack (that apparently only has a handful of songs). The cards and AR are nice extra to have but not a must. The figure is unnecessary to me though I know it has its fans. I'm not going to be bother if it's going to be too expensive for two things I really care about.

While Nintendo are ponying up the money for publishing it, it's still SE's IP. FFXIII-2's collector's edition were expensive as fuck too and didn't even include a figurine, only some cards, t-shirt and a ost.

This collector’s edition comes with a copy of the game, an art book, a diorama, a soundtrack and a big box to put it all in. It’s currently only available through Square Enix’s online store and will cost you around ¥12,800 or ($160).

The MSRP means jack squat cuz SE Shop only shipped within Japan. So you needed a middleman or import ship which hiked the price to $250+. I should know, I wanted it.

At least Shopto and GAME ships internationally.

We're relying on Game for a good price. I've seen weirder things happen! Here's hoping! The game by itself is nice but this looks really nice. Hopefully we get better images of the bundle so we can see the quality of the items.

What's the most expensive games you guys and girls have purchased? I guess a few have bought rare OOP games on eBay like Earthbound. Most expensive retail games for me are akin to Skyward Sword collectors edition and Wind Waker with the figure. Just shy of £50 a pop. Still a lot of money.

Bravely Default will go for around £35 by itself and will come with a little artbook at GAME.

They do, your pre-order page (which has all your pre-orders on it) has a cancellation button for anything you have pre-ordered :)

The CE cost that much, you can get the game cheaper. Its not like you NEED that CE.

Depends on the quality really, no idea how good a quality this is though.

As for the mark-up, probably but they probably assume not many will buy it (or buy the CE) and are trying to recoup their investment quicker.

Eh, I've seen worse CEs for this price so I don't feel that bad about pre-ordering it.
