There have been threads for stranger things and I like the way you think, it's annoying. I should be able to remove it along with Hulu and the others that are permanent fixtures on the XMB.
it appeared with the last update. it is sort of annoying, but the only thing i use is Netflix... so every other square in that whole thing is annoying anyway, so i guess one more isn't going to be that much of a terrible thing.

Yea I saw that noise last night! I wondered when it showed up because lately I've been jumping directly into games and not watching netflix or Hulu plus. I don't really like that kind of advertising.
I was pissed when I couldn't delete Amazon Instant Watch in the same menu. I'm not a customer, so it's basically an ad I can never remove. Makes my (perhaps irrational) blood boil.

I don't think it actually takes up hard drive space unless you choose to download it. It's essentially an advertisement for the app.

What's even worse are the prices! I saw the icon and thought "sweet red box priced instant watch movies!" um no. 5.99 HD rentals. Same as Amazon Prime on there. I could drive a half mile and rent it for 2.00. Way to promote burning gas Rebox! Oh and uglying up my PS3 UI

Well, when it was just Netflix it was one little ad and then they added Amazon and it became 2 little ads and now they have added Redbox so it's three little ads.You can't delete it because you don't have it.
It's an ad. Not a big deal. I noticed it days ago and it didn't bother me. 1 little icon is nothing considering I rarely need to go through the apps tab except for Netflix.
Guess what happens next, especially if only a few complain.

PS3 is a video game machine. Not sure why it would be annoying
I really wish Sony would allow you to delete apps on their machines and re-download them if you want to install again. I want to get rid of everything on my Vita except for games, trophies, remote play, store, and settings.

Gotta be honest, been happy with the PS3 UI (Love it) and they didn't fucking ruin it by changing it like Microsoft but not too happy about this bullshit singstar thing in my games section either, fuck it off, I have no interest, go away.

Oh, people hammered PS EU Blog for months, only thing they got was bans/comments delete and snarky remarks by SingStar community manager varying from "It won't go away" to "Deal with it". But if same thing would happen in U.S., Sony would back out on 2nd day of this BS. In EU they are as arrogant as always, because they know EU is in their pocket. It's a subscription program so you can pay to do that every month regardless if you use it and you can stream "classics" whatever that is.
