I know it's already been posted that Best Buy is selling it for $29.99, however, Amazon Prime also has it listed for the same price and if you're like me and can't wait 4+ days for delivery you can pick the game up there and have it 2nd day delivery free, or an extra $5 will have it to you next day.

I will eternally make awful faces whenever that happens.

Made a beard, hair, jeans and some sneakers last night. This game is going to destroy my life. Thanks Media Molecule!

What do you think about the game technically? It's so clean and does seem to achieve its artstyle 100%. Is that because of its simplicty or lots of hidden and powerful complexity?

Tried out the demo, loved it.

Went to Best Buy to try to get it since it's on sale and they have the most incompetent workers there. One guy told me they have two but couldn't find it, so they told me to go up front in the cashier and check the cage. OK, he should be trying to find out where it is but whatever, as long as I get my game, I'll go up there. Go to the cashier, tell them that someone from the back told me to come check the cage. They told me it's not there and wouldn't help me further. I left at that point because I'm not going to waste my time doing their job. Hopefully I can find it somewhere else soon.

I'll be joining you guys one way or another! Loving what I played so far.

So, umm...I'm trying not to freak out here, but...I stopped playing the game for about a day and have been playing Rayman Legends. I went back to it where I left off, and I am at a point where I cannot progress. I went to check out a video walkthrough of the game to see if I'm missing something, and...well...I certainly am. See:

I don't know what I should do.

EDIT: I restarted the game and everything is fine. WHEW.

Man, this game has me seriously intrigued. It looks so tangible and yet utterly surreal. I'm seriously considering picking up a Vita just to play it some day.

What other vita games should I consider when the time arrives? If it helps, platformers are my favorite genre, I'm a big fan of most of nintendo's output, but I also love indies, story-based games like AA and TWD, and action adventures in general. Basically anything except sports simulations, most open world games, and most AAA shooters.

Also, if you could describe the feeling this game gives you while playing in a few words, what would they be?

Went to Best Buy to get this. System said they had two copies. The employee spent 15 minutes looking through the stacks and stacks and stacks of Call of Duty, Battlefield, new PS4 / Xbone games they had in a giant cage...

and couldn't find it.

Extremely frustrating that a big release for the Vita came out at this time and a store like the Best Buy I went to can't get their shit organized to even locate two copies of the game.

Had to go over to Target and buy it for $39.99. Oh well I guess.

I just downloaded it today. It is far and away the best game on the vita, nothing else comes close, super fun, uses all the nice tech the vita has, and the art style is pure joy. Leave it to Mm again to make the first killer app for a system. I can't wait for their PS4 projects.

This game makes me feel the way games like Mario did when I was a kid. There is just a joyful wonder and creativity that it has. In fact, when I finished the game the first thing I thought is that I want my kids to be able to play it one day and I am not even married! I also think it is the best looking game I have ever played on any system.

I recommend Gravity Daze, this game actually reminded me a lot of that. That game is my only other Vita Platinum. There are also many other great games like Persona 4, Uncharted, Sound Shapes, etc...

My GF just beat the game tonight. Wow. She doesn't play games at all really; Candy Crush is the extent of her gaming. I watched her and cheered her on right to the end, even if there were a few difficulty spikes she struggled with.

She mentioned that if I hadn't told her the end choked me up when I beat it, she might have cried when she got to the end.

Being honest, I think Tearaway was a great first hardcore, start-to-finish game for her to sink her teeth into. It's a gorgeous, whimsical experience, and I feel she really got that when she finished and said, "Now I get why you love games so much."

Just got the Platinum! My second ever, to go along with Guacamelee :)

My only gripe with the game is that there are a lot of good gameplay ideas but they didn't go very far with them. What if they had combined button platforms with glue, tilting platforms with marble tracks, etc. Hopefully they can do a lot more with the sequel.

Gets a 9/10 from me and is definitely in my top 5 games of the year. :)

Thanks for the suggestions! Just saw a trailer for Gravity Daze (Gravity Rush?) and yeah it looks like something that would be right up my alley. In a strange way, my love affair with the wii u's feature set (touch screen, gyroscope, off-tv play, etc) are making me more and more interested in investing in a PS4-Vita combo once I get the funds.

Back on the topic of Tearaway, I see what you mean: the game just seems to have this wonderful melancholic mood to it. It evokes the feeling of being young but not too young; of being on the cusp of understanding something fundamental about the world, but having no clue what it is. Even the lighting evokes the feeling of a summer day, in a wooded area, when the sun is waning and the shadows are getting long on the ground and the sounds of night are creeping in all around you.

Game feels like summer camp -- and this is coming from a guy who never went to summer camp! Hope it sells well.

I also can relate with wanting to share games like this with my future kids. I feel the same way about the new Mario.

Only played the demo so far, but since you can't jump with X till the end of it, I found really amazing jumping using the back panel, kinda like gyro aiming, felt really natural and would have enjoyed having the option to jump like that the whole game

Gravity Rush is the EU/NA title, Gravity Daze is the Japanese title. It, before Tearaway, was my favorite PS Vita game. I hope that Gravity Rush 2 reclaims it... and then I hope they make a Tearaway 2 to take it back. And then Gravity Rush 3... etc. <3

I want a Tearaway 2 so bad. I'll think positively. :3 With the reception it's gotten, it would make a lot of sense if they tried to do another. And with the engine done, they can make it longer by reusing some assets.

Playing the game is like being a kid again. Playing SMB for the first time, or Super Mario 64 (as much as that thread got trolled, he had a point on the impact it has on players so far).

Soul Sacrifice is awesome too. You should check it out. Oh, and Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery. It's an adorable puzzle adventure game like Professor Layton, with amazing art design, great voice acting and characters. It's indie, and I believe just $3! (it's also on mobile, but it runs flawless on PS Vita.. plus trophies~)

Yeah, even if the sales aren't what they should be, I could see Sony funding a sequel as it's a critical darling and a real feather in the vita's cap. Certainly making me look twice at the system.

That feeling you describe is really special. It's the rare game that does it, but when it does there's nothing quite like it. It's not really feeling like a kid, although you feel it most readily when you are one. Mario 64 and Yoshi's Island made me feel that way when I was young, but so did Shenmue, KOTOR, and most recently 3D World. I think it's a combination of deep immersion plus the sense of discovery waiting all around you.

Tearaway seems to evoke that feeling in spades and I can't wait to dig into it some day soon.

It's very well made in that regard.

Supremely clean image quality, large open worlds devoid of loading, realtime shadows everywhere, and a very neat animation system. I think it's one of the most accomplished Vita titles.

Well, their focus was creating a game where we would want to create reworld things. (Papercraft)

And with dat ending, I think they did that well. I know it got me wanting to do it. I just don't have a good printer, and don't know what paper to use. :P

It would have been nice to share outfits though.

No, and unless it's a 3G version that's kind of a rotten idea (and given that'd depend on an active 3G subscription it's still a rotten idea.) Just fine a 4 GB one for cheap, and given you're on Plus you'll probably want massive storage eventually.
