Do you get chat out of both ears with this, or only one?Originally Posted by shagg_187

$9.99!
PS Vita headsets are amazing piece of hardware. I own 4 and I could never be happier.
It's great for your personal use. You can easily find one for $10 like this one. It has a sliding mute button for mic in case you don't want to talk; most mics don't have a dedicated mute button. It's also has good speakers and microphone.
Best of all, its official too!
Both. Its a stereo headphone. You can hear game audio in stereo and you also hear chat out of both.Originally Posted by Neuromancer

Stereo. Very helpful when playing a shooter and you follow footsteps via audio. Stereo is always better than mono!Is the PS Vita headset mono or stereo?
Cool might have to pick a pair up. 12 bucks isn't bad at all.Originally Posted by shagg_187

No brah, sure they have mic. How'd you make calls with them otherwise?I got a 5C iPhone last month and it came with Apple EarPods which have great sound, but no mic. Is there a version that comes with a mic? I thought they just had volume control?
There's a version of the EarPods without mic (there shouldn't be one but whatever) that comes with certain iPods. But the ones that come with the iPhone 5c or any iPhone at all have mic. So there ya go.
I'm also very interested in the answer to this.Originally Posted by CrashPrime

I have a pair of the older release razer carcharias (the one with seperate mic/audio cables) and I want to just plug them into the DS4.
WHAT THE HECK ADAPTER will be able to convert seperate mic/headphone cables into the combined jack I need to plug into the DS4?
I love my carcharias and have ZERO need to change to anything else. They fit my head better than anything I've ever used and have put in many 6+ hours sessions without fatigue.
^Fat headphones with some awesome sound quality and bass that also happen to have an inline microphone.
all this time i was REALLY hoping to use my PS3 official Bluetooth headset (the original one)...but as we all know thats not compatible, and no idea when it will be...
are there any good quality options out there for anything similar to the 360 headset??...i dont need any kind of crazy headset...just looking for a better, more comfortable chat option...
Have you figured it out yet? The Bose earbuds are the most comfortable for my ears, and I love the stereo output.Originally Posted by Neuromancer
I have a Bose headset with a mic that I love and use with my iPhone every day; strangely enough it doesn't seem to function with the PS4. My friends can't hear me talk on it and I don't know why.
On a similar subject how do I make sure my PS4 camera isn't being used as a mic? I don't see the option anywhere.

I'm using the tritton kunai that i got from the evo sale and I just plug the headset directly into my dualshock I'm pretty happy with the results the audio quality is solid
And yeah, if you routed it through the RCA out on your TV like I did, you're golden. You can use it for everything on the TV, and get chat audio too!
It's funny they made their own: They were usually rerouting to an Amazon link for a different one, which I bought. It's a simple affair and awesome as hell.
If you don't want those, go Vita headset. If you don't want those, go Pulse. Or call the WCW Hotline I don't give a fuck
Would you happen to have a link? I have a pair of X41s and my current chat cable doesn't fit the Dualshock 4 (the official TB one is sold out)Originally Posted by BronsonLee
Hey! Cool to see people having the same idea I did with my Turtle Beaches. They won't rate em as PS4 compatible because they can't pull game audio yet, but the chat works just fine with a converter/adapter like the one they're selling!

You can get 2.5 to 3.5 adapters on amazon for a couple bucks but my x31's wouldn't work with chat. Game audio only. On Turtle Beaches website the x31s and x41s were like the only two not listed as compatible.Would you happen to have a link? :(
how is the bass on these? the one thing i didn't like about the XP400s (i believe the equivalent to the PX4s but for xbox) was the lack of bass. With the bass booster preset turned on it distorted a bit when their was low freq. bass.I just got the Turtle Beach PX4s yesterday and can vouch for them. I'm not really an audiophile so I can't speak to any sort of specific stuff those guys would be able to, but Battlefield sure does sound nice, and the mic quality seems to be pretty good as well.

I'm confused. I'm pretty sure USB headset support was added in 1.5 firmware. For example both the A40s and Skullcandy PLYR1s work for both audio and chat. Are you talking specifically about the Sony Pulses?Originally Posted by Squirts Macintosh

Pretty sure any 2.5 female to 3.5 male adapter will work. I don't have the link around (TB changed the article to link to their cable instead) but I think I saw it on this thread... The one from Malcom Distributors?Would you happen to have a link? I have a pair of X41s and my current chat cable doesn't fit the Dualshock 4 (the official TB one is sold out)
Have the optical and amp setup for v5.1 surround sound(def time for a new headset).
But its my usual setup (as of late, as opposed to my high def system i have been using for a couple of years) and it works on the ps4 the same way it did on any other platform.
I cant stand stereo -.- so i just set these up and they worked as usual, much to my surprise.. I thought i would be lmited to stereo judging from al of the reports of some headsets not working and needing to wait for special cables etc (i knew about plugging it into the controller, but as i said previously, i hate stereo sound as im sort of an audiophile).
I usualy use a high def setup for sound but as of late i have been drawn to the cozy nature of headsets, so im in the market now that i know they work flawlessly.
A40s aren't virtual surround sound though?Using my a40s.

They don't market them as such, they market them as 7.1 dolby surround.A40s aren't virtual surround sound though?
My friends tiamats sound like true 7.1. , my a40s sound like v5.1 (these are from 2010 mind you) and theres no way of knowing what they are actually outputting for me since theres no display indicating such information. This can also be due to age as well.
(Using optical setup with bitstream (dolby).
Coming from ps3 bitstream (mix).
Another gaffer led me to this, which is what I think we're looking for.Originally Posted by CrashPrime

Thanks. I've been thinking about getting these for my day-to-day use with MBP and iPod, nice to know that that'll work with PS4 as we'll.I stopped using earbuds after going through 3 different expensive ones in 3 years.
First, it was the $80 apple earbud, then Ultimate Ears that were twice as expensive, and then Sannheiser buds. After switching to over the ear headphones, I can't go back.
I've been using my V-Moda M100 and it has worked perfectly for party chat and for game audio. Having a standard headphone jack on the controller is the best thing Sony could have done.
For the life of me, I can't find the one that came with my 2009 A40 Audio System, so I ordered another on Amazon. It should be here tomorrow and I'll give an update. I tried hooking up my MagicGate USB adapter that Astro suggests using with the PS3, but it doesn't run chat audio through the headphone channel properly (instead you hear it over optical, which is quite obnoxious).Has anybody tested one of these for Headsets with separate Audio and Mic?
Don't have a PS4 yet - but have been following this. I believe USB support already existed or was added in fw 1.5 - but it's bluetooth support for the likes of the Sony Pulse which is upcoming in a later update.I'm confused. I am undecided if I should get a Pulse headset now or just wait until that update comes out.
Have you used noise cancelling headphones before?I have the new QC20i ready to be tested tomorrow.. Hope they work well.
Man if you haven't it takes a while to get used to them, my QC3's block everything out when I have them on.. To the point I have to have one ear uncovered if my wife is in the room lol (although handy if she is watching her catchup programs on the computer with the sound blasting lol)
If you plug them into the DS4, can you still use the microphone? And do you get the virtual surround sound/bass-impact stuff?
It'd be awesome if the patch was ready for the EU launch... Probably wishful thinking though.
Yes, you don't even need to power them up. You can use the mic passively.Originally Posted by danthefan

My birthdays just after Christmas.. so I'm picking up the Astro mixamp 2013 version then.. and a seperate clip mic...Originally Posted by GroundCombo
I've been very happy with the Sennheiser PC360. I have it connected to the PS3 through Astro Mixamp and the sound is excellent. It has a handy volume control on the right cup and the mic is also very good (lift to mute). Going to use the same setup with PS4.
