it's pretty decent. There's some slice-of-life events in there, but the battles are the fun part. Each school represents stereotypes of various countries and the main girl has to come up with tactics on the spot to overcome them despite having completely inferior tanks and being outnumbered always.

I can't watch 90's 'nime without dubs anymore because they're way cooler than the original Japanese voice acting IMO. Though whether that will apply for this show I don't have high hopes for. Just look at the Lucky Star and the Kill Me Baby dubs. *shudders*

Initial D...but yeah I get your point. I don't know if part of it is just what we're used to hearing though. I never watched Dragonball, but I would always just see random bits of it...and then the JP version has a higher pitched Goku. They seem to be fine with it...so who knows?
