anyway 30fps for racing games = I'm not buying the game. It's that simple.
I guess piracy was eliminated in the 5 mins I went for a shit.
I can't even...
Seriously this is so stupid I'm not even going to procrastinate on Neogaf for the next hour and actually write my paper.
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=703090I thought this was old news? was it denied at some point or something? because I'm sure there was funny statement from the devs about 30fps.

If I can get 30fps on a NFS game its a step up!
If you liked Horizons... something something 30 fps. something. This is disappointing. The Forza Horizon comparisons in the OT really had me interested in this game. 30 FPS is not a complete dealbreaker but for this it means picking the game up when it's super cheap vs. only waiting for a slight discount.
So here I am thinking "ah, yes, great framerates really are important. I'm glad to see that developers realize this."
And then... no. Guys. Why? Why would you ever lock NFS at 30? In what universe is that a good idea? I was vaguely interested in picking this up. Now... well, less so.

It's their loss, not mine.
racing games needa be 60fps.
Now I'm not buying it. At all. For any platform.
I just did it without success. Used cheatengine. I think the game need some kind of "vid_restart" after changing the value because is locked at 30 :(It's a frostbite 3 game, so someone figure out how to get the console open and use gametime.maxvariablefps 60 or more and see what happens
Anyways, like I said before this just solidifies sticking with PS4 for me, or XB1 if I had been getting it. 1080p and likely maxed out details, at that point there probably isn't any advantage to PC.
Seems more like ENGINE problems actually, they said this was done for MP reasons and many people noted Frostbite games can get screwy depending on FPS issues in MP. Ergo keeping everyone at 30 is safest, whereas maybe this wouldn't have an issue on other engines.Originally Posted by SapientWolf
Not sure why they would make the same mistake twice. All I can figure is that they're hiding performance problems.

PC games usually have an editable file that let you bypass the FPS. So it shouldn't be a problem for someone trying to achieve 60 FPS. This is usually and simply done just by opening up a file in Notepad.
step 1. open notepad
step 2. type 'unlock 60fps plz!'
And now you're running at 60fps!
Is this what console gamers think being a PC gamer is like?
That's pretty much exactly how I unlocked 1080p in some of my PC games, including a few that were capped at 600p originally.lol at this

I edited min/max framerates in Arkham City and quadrupled my framerate.
But still, probably not so simple in this specific case.
However I hope someone could quit this ridiculous limitation.
I think I am done buying EA games anyways.
