Somehow I have a feeling you aren't joking since your posting history leans toward more console-centric taste.Originally Posted by dragonbane

I am. I'm just as annoyed as you, so I achieved my goal :P
Nah, I love my PS3 for exclusives, but I mainly game on PC. Steam sales are the only way to go as a student. I just don't post about it that much on GAF. Console wars is much more entertaining, even though I don't even plan to pick up a PS4 before 2015 lolSomehow I have a feeling you aren't joking since your posting history leans toward more console-centric taste.

Sorry :/ Some of them are though. But the same goes for PC gamers. I like both.Originally Posted by MutonCommander

I still don't understand why EA made a deal with Ubi and not with Valve, seems so weird, Uplay doesn't even have a patching method within the client.
Whoa...almost looks like the game is in fast forward.Originally Posted by Blizzardsc

They seem to be using Time-per-frame as the game speed doubles when it runs at 60fps.
Ubisoft didn't mandate a 30% cut on DLC (or whatever it is that Valve wanted) for products on Steam, and Ubisoft wanted their games featured on Origin, maybe Valve didn't.Originally Posted by Nethaniah

It's not, actually. The only thing that seems frame bound in Dark Souls are some calculations related to jumping physic, Which is why jump distance decreases slightly with higher FPS.For example Dark Souls on PC is faster with more fps when you unlock framerate
Still not really making any sense because who in their right mind would buy EA games on Uplay, sure there are some people who don't know any better but i would imagine Steam being worth that 30% cut just for the sheer number of people who make up that userbare people (from what i could gather) that would be interested in those games.Originally Posted by Tunesmith

But competition! Don't you like competition? Why do you hate consumers?Originally Posted by Stumpokapow

They just want to be able to communicate directly with their customers. On Facebook and Twitter. That's probably why they got rid of their NFS forums.Originally Posted by Stumpokapow

Having played the game all weekend on PS4, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. IF you like cars and Racing games, buy it. Game is fantastic and tons of fun to be had.So, is it not worth it to get this game then? PS4 or PC? Reason being I need something to tide me over until BF4 works and was going to get this tonight.
Someone obviously never played the PC versions of any of the Dead Space games. All 3 were capped at 30 fps if you wanted vsync, all 3 required you to jump through hoops if you wanted to re-bind certain keys. The first one had unbearable mouse lag. Great games, but they got garbage PC ports. That one is also 30 fps so no difference there. It's disappointing, I'd bet someone could patch it but EA has been putting out quality ports the last few years so there must be a reason it's locked to 30.
I swear it went 60 at times with V-sync in the first game, I think it's just the game operates like Dark Souls and only works at FPSes that can be exactly duplicated into 60, and so any time DS1 dips under it jumps with 30 to be safe.Originally Posted by DrPreston

Wow, I spent about 30 minutes trying to jump off a ledge so I can get to the eggs in the Firelink Shrine. I never knew this before. It's not, actually. He makes a good point about the game considering the player to be an idiot. Looks like I won't be buying this one anytime soon, if at all.
You can force vsync on PC. You can limit the framerate on PC. A game which doesn't control any of these is a better game than the one which locks framerate or doesn't allow you to turn off vsync. Some developers and publishers just don't care.Originally Posted by DrPreston

Is this mario kart on speed? jezus christ Ghost/EA this is just pathetic..right i am getting it on PS3 fuck this i still need my NFS fix.Just saw what happens when you unlock the framerate on PC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ju9de...etailpage#t=12

I feared that before the nextgen started, companies are busy trying to do both old gen and next gen console games at the same time, and the pc version will suffer for that.
Unskippable opening cut scene, cringe worthy dialogue, loading screen after the unskippable intro, no mouse support for the menu (why?). page up and page down buttons for menu navigation, seriously? How counter intuitive. Wow at the tutorial videos before the race starts.
Yeah, I'm sure that the Xbox One was used as the baseline for all three versions. That probably was their target platform and they just capped the framerate for the PS4 and PC versions so it would be equal across the boards. Though looking at that Total Biscuit video, the vehicle physics and game clock/ timing seem to be bound to the framerate itself, which is really odd.I wouldn't surprised if the game varied between 30 and 60 on PS4 and XB1 if they just allowed it too (or XB1 holds back PS4 along with last gen, whichever.)
And I always felt it was more that consoles raised the bar for PC, they were going to be held back but not by as much as before.
That looks like the most annoying game I've ever seen in my entire life. Not talking about the frame rate... but just loading it up. All the cut scenes. All the tutorials. Wow... I do not want to have to put up with that.
I think I'll pass.
Also, this is why I love TB. He's a great resource for this stuff.
What happens if you play online with an unlocked framerate? Do you have superspeed while the other players capped at 30fps move half as fast?Just saw what happens when you unlock the framerate on PC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ju9de...etailpage#t=12

lol i know you are being sarcastic and all but not all PC gamers are like those PC Master Race eDick swingsters. Personally i see fanboyism as ignorant as can be because at the end of the day they lose out on some great games. That is the great thing about being a passionate gamer that is unbiased towards all gaming platforms..we are the privileged that can enjoy PC gaming, Console gaming, Mobile gaming and so on so forth. I personally love PC gaming but i cannot even fathom going through this generation without at least a PS4 sitting next to my custom built PC ...Originally Posted by dragonbane

I am just freaking HAPPY current gen is done and over with...it was too long to endure.
I'm sad you're all turned off by the frame rate, I guess I understand since it's the PC version that's locked.

Oh shit I'll have to watch that video then, if true :lol x 1000Originally Posted by MrCunningham
