Pichu would probably be one of the easiest additions for them. He's the cloniest clone.weird request but... is pichu a possibility?
But wow, I'm legitimately impressed by everything that you guys have accomplished and I hope Sakurai really does take a long, hard look at this (which probably won't happen, but still).
And the PM team did an amazing job with this mod, In the back of my mind the thought that smash 4 is probably not gunna live up to this makes me sort of sad.
Man, when can we get homebrew for Wii U?
The tripping and the extreme unbalance in Brawl is nigh inexcusable. It's not very hard to make something better than Brawl. It's hard to go to the lengths the Project M team did, though.Originally Posted by Silent_Ocarina
I'm not going to lie, while I enjoyed Project M for what it was, I used to have the impression (probably unwarranted) that the Project M Team arrogantly believed their version of Super Smash Bros. to be unequivocally and unquestionably superior to Nintendo's vision which irritated me quite a bit.

I'm wondering if Nintendo is going to do anything about the Project M team .
Can this be used on Dolphin? Also could I get other alt. costumes working on dolphin? Using texture mods and balance changes made me keep brawl for so long and project M might just make it my go to fighter.
What happens if it IS better than Smash 4 tho? Would the competitive people just stick with Project M? I know it wont go and really hurt the sales of Smash 4 or anything but I am curious how that would go down for competitive people.Originally Posted by TheCongressman1
Wow. I sincerely hope this doesn't end up being better than Smash 4. Samus, and Kirby especially, are so much more fun looking it's incredible.

Yes to all your questions, I think there's some tutorials on how to get it working on Dolphin on youtube/Google (don't have the links on me right now). This looks incredible.

Everyone would move on to Smash for and the diehards would go back to whatever version they love the most, just like what happened with Melee after Brawl came out. What happens if it IS better than Smash 4 tho? 4 will just be another game that's part of the community. Every smash game is played competitively, even brawl. What happens if it IS better than Smash 4 tho? But there will always be people that will stick to/prefer melee/PM
They'll probably just continue playing Melee...What happens if it IS better than Smash 4 tho? Would the competitive people just stick with Project M? I know it wont go and really hurt the sales of Smash 4 or anything but I am curious how that would go down for competitive people.
It would be a dream come true if Smash 4 brings back that kind of solid gameplay.
I was trying to plan another Project M night with some friends when Metaknight was released, but never quite got around to it. It looks like now is the time instead.
I was not expecting ALL the remaining Brawl characters either. Christmas is coming early this year folks.
From what I know they have permission from Nintendo to do the mod as long as they don't make money from it.The tripping and the extreme unbalance in Brawl is nigh inexcusable. It's not very hard to make something better than Brawl. It's hard to go to the lengths the Project M team did, though.

All the characters look phenomenal thus far. Christmas is coming early this year!
Can't wait to try out Mewtwo, Roy, Samus, and Ice Climbers! No one can replace my Zero Suit though. <3
The increased speed and weightiness of the characters adds a lot.
You get the hell outta here.I played Project M at a friend's house and I hated it, it turned Smash Bros into some tournament obsessed game which goes against the whole point of the series. I did however appreciate some of the changes it brought with it such as the increased speed, Melee physics and the removal of tripping. With that said, Samus does look pretty hype in Project M 3.0.
HYPEEEEE
That's literally all I could say after seeing the release date trailer. This looks do awesome! Getting a Wii U for Christmas, wondering if PM works on Wii U or if I have to keep my wii just for this game? This really will tide me over for smash 4 and although I do have some of those reservations that have already been mentioned like hopefully this doesn't surpass smash 4's awesomeness I think I will be able to enjoy them equally as seperate games
I believe it'll work on the Wii U, but you'll lose Gamecube controller support.Originally Posted by voltronbadA

Time to mod the mod after release...
I'm also happy to see that the Wii scene is still alive, and I hope this has players coming from out of the woodwork. HYPE.
Playing the fuck out of this.
I wouldn't characterize them as "sucking", but it's certainly a different approach. IIRC it's easy enough to revert to vanilla Brawl stages while keeping everything else. I have not taken the time to figure it out exactly though. The characters are awesome, but their stages suck. The new Pikmin stage is a big grey block with two leaf platforms, the new Norfair is Battlefield with a new background. I understand they try to keep the stages tournament legal, but copying the layout of a different stage from the same game can't be the answer..

The only stage I really miss from vanilla is Warioware with the ridiculous micro games. I was hoping the P:M team would make a pass over it to make it even better (maybe more frequent microgames :D ?) but they opted for a more neutral approach instead... which is fine, but at some point I need to get in there and try reverting that one.
No, that's understandable. Much more stages, characters, items etc. with improved graphics. My first Smash Bros. was Brawl so playing Project M was fantastic for me since Brawl felt slow after. me and some friends would play it almost every week and it just became a little thing we used to do. Is it weird that I definitely prefer it to Melee aswell after trying both?
Still not a fan of the new stages though. But I'm sure there's probably a way to keep the old ones via tinkering with the files or something.
Not at all, Brawl has great stages, a huge roster, and a large soundtrack that covers a bunch of genres, physics and netcode gripes aside. Is it weird that I definitely prefer it to Melee aswell after trying both?
On an unrelated note, what possessed Nintendo to not include Ethernet on the Wii and Wii U? I don't trust Wi-Fi when I want to have long stable games.
What we have here is a photo of me buying a Wii LAN Adapter.
Now I think someone in the Smash 4 thread said you could now play this without modding your Wii... That made me excited. Is that correct?
There is a completely hackless version available. It's the set I use. The only set up it requires is an SD card, and deleting all custom stages you might have saved in Brawl. The mod takes over from there. This is incredible. When Project M began I used to just think that some people had their heads too far up Melee's ass, but over time I realized I can't knock these guys for their tremendous effort and passion. They do bring a lot of cool ideas to the table, and kudos to them for making them happen.
