1. Download Knacks Quest app for iOS, i think Android has it too.... link it to your PSN ID. It will remember this link even when you delete the app.

3. Delete the game, and redownload it from the app store. It deletes all your saved game data BUT still keeps your gem info that has been pushed to your PSN account.

I earned all my gems ( no diamonds ever ) and all the gadgets except for one.
I'm replaying the game now to earn the stupid diamonds and try to get the part for that one gadget. I think its the secret room gadget I'm missing one piece.

I've already beaten the game on hard and have some of them collectibles, though no alternate Knack mode. Might go back to it soon for more unlocks. There's still Very Hard mode to run through and some trophies to get.

Rarity of gems showed up for me in this order... from most common to rare.

Ruby, Sunstone, Aqua, Amethyst, Emerald

By the end, I was just trying to earn Emeralds. And like i said, never a single diamond. :(

So I already beat the game on hard and I wanted to do some co-op with my 8yr old daughter but haven't tried it yet.

Do I keep my gadgets and gems if I start a new game at a lower difficulty or do I need to do a new game + on hard?

I have already finished hard once. On my second hard playthrough trying to get all the treasure. Planning to do Very Hard after that, but want diamond knack before I do that. Here is a tip if you are frustrated:

1) Find a chest really close to a start of a level (example: 12-3)
2) Go to the chest and open it - see what the item is
3) If the item is what you want press X to confirm
4) If the item is not something you want press PS button and restart application.

The chest will return unopened and will have a random item in it. There are some chest locations really close to the start of levels. Those are the best for this method. Probably anywhere from 30-50 tries on the same chest to get a diamond out of it. I would guess 2%.

I think you lose all gadgets/gems on a new playthrough. So yeah, you're going to have to play a New Game+ on hard.
