Yeah. Indy 1 is the only one I'd call a stinker from them. What impresses me is that we're, what, nearly fifteen games in now? Fifteen games in a series. It's been milked like crazy... but milked respectfully, with no *real* clunker in there (Of those I've played, Lego Indy 1 is the worst, I think - but only the worst of those, in no way a universally bad game).
So, there's the sheer quantity and the fact that the core formula is sturdy. Add to that the fact that they are perfect family games. Fond as I am of Nintendo... I'd say the Lego games are better at tapping into an audience younger than about eight or so... while still being enjoyable enough for adults.
I have endless respect for them; they're producing superior games for an underrepresented market. They absolutely deserve their success
And each game has such great production values too, the visuals are usually better than the source material.
IMO LEGO Marvel is the best one so far surpassing LEGO Batman 2 as the best LEGO game, I haven't played the WII U one but I've heard is quite good as well.
On the other hand, that was the introduction of - for want of a better word - the 'second generation' of structure, and I rather liked how they did that.Originally Posted by Dr Zhivago

Been enjoying marvel currently on ps4, though the core levels are not as interesting as prior Lego games. Most I find very bland and rote to burn through. I dig exploring manhattan, but from what I've been told Lego city just dwarves it in content variety and charm.
Still depressed that these games don't offer an invert option for camera and flying. Each game seems to introduce more glitches than the previous that travelers tales are so slow to patch or react to. Still I adore them despite. Lego Star Wars complete and lord of the rings are pretty close at being my favs.
Oh and bring back the no-death run achievements! One of my favorite challenges of last gen in Lego SWII. Can't believe they never added that again.
