Christopher Walken barely counts. i think we're talking about guys who actually show up at the end to fight the hero.

Sure it did. Falcone was a villain. Scarecrow was a villain. R'as was definitely a villain. That's three - in Batman's ORIGIN story. That's not even counting the guy who actually shot and killed his parents.

(edit: yeah, beaten to it. and Batman Returns is a good example, as well)

It's possible. And Batman Begins' qualities seem to have been only MORE appreciated as time's gone on. BUT:

Agree to disagree.

Will do. I mean - I understand your reticence. Spider-Man 3 is defintely an example of multiple villains done poorly. It's not like it's an invalid example at all - I see where you're coming from.

I just don't think the mere presence of multiple villains AUTOMATICALLY means it's going to be a bad movie. There's lots of ways to tell a story.

We need a Flash movie to settle the "Can multiple villains work?" question once and for all.

Or maybe I just really, really want to see the Rogues in live action?...Whatever.

The thing is instead of the villains origins being set up randomly like in Spider-man 3 in this trilogy it's clearly set-up that all three of these villians come from Oscorp.

yep for sure.

anyways this will be a mess but an entertaining one, like the first one. i don't think amazing spiderman was a good film, and nowhere near the quality of the raimi ones. (even three which was shit had that saturday night parker scene which eclipses the entire webb film for me)

i'll have fun with some scenes here at least. i'm not expecting this to be good so at least make it watchable.

it will be more entertaining than captain america 2. anyways 2014 belongs to xmen and guardians of the galaxy. and 2015 ant man and maaaaaaaybe batman vs. superman

even then, i don't think anyone is praising TDK for how it shoved Two-Face off to the side until they were ready to deal with him.

TDK might not have done Two Face off enough, but it did the whole Harvey Dent arc perfectly and that was even better.

Did they not see how well that went in Spiderman 3? They shouldn't be doing multiple villains in a spiderman movie unless they're doing the sinister six.

Supposedly that is exactly what they're gearing up to do for Amazing Spider-Man 3.

We need to have a dark Zodiac-esque thriller involving Spider-Man and Kraven the Hunter.

I'm actually really interested in seeing how Electro is done here. The stuff from the set reports sounded really cool. He's essentially become a god.

Goblin? Holy....

This whole time they've been pushing Eectro as the main and primary baddy, with /maybe/ an appearance of GG that leads into ASM3. Didn't expect him to be on press material.

Rhino on the other hand is sure to be a smaller role.

If you're going to do a big Spider-man film, do it third, and make it the Sinister Six.

This is nuts.

The eyes don't look as covered.

And the hood bends forwards in that pointed curve.

But yeah, it's very similar to a traditional design.

I thought they were following the precedent set by the first film, so all bad guys were going to be like the Lizard, genetic splicing with other things gone wrong. I mean the game from the first film already did a "Rhino" that followed the trend and it kind of looked alright I guess, but a least it followed the lore they seemed to be setting.

But now Rhino is just going to be a big robot, seems like an odd choice and a little out of nowhere from the first film. As for Green Goblin, I hope he is saved for the end of the film and isn't defeated, I mean, we all want a certain thing to happen on screen with him from the comics, so hopefully he sticks around.

I think it's going to be a combination of things. Rhino (pre-costume) is trying to steal a serum of some sort as well as a mechanical suit (military or something). Goblin on the other hand is undoubtedly a physical transformation. In attempt to save Normans life, or something.

Should be interesting, but I didn't expect them to go all monsters this time around. It'd be too confusing.

I really hope the green goblin is in it to eradicate the memories of raimis version(Dafoe was excellant in the role but that suit man), chris cooper is a really good choice. I'm not too keen on rhinos design but their taking 95% of their influences from the ultimate universe so i was'nt expecting the 616 version.

I'm really looking forward to this anyway, I loved amazing spider-man and i've been reading spider-man comics for 23 years.yeah the lizards design was'nt great but Garfield was a excellant Parker and Spider-man. Tobey maguire was a terrible mopey peter parker.

Probably was, and marketing decided it wasn't having any of that.

"Wait, Green Goblin's in the movie?"
"Yeah, but it's just near the end ... we reveal he's been behind the events and .... it's kind of a fan tease"

Rhino looks more like a robotic dog in that pic, with the way he's charging.

Edit. Yep, they're basing his design on an actual Rhino instead of the more humanoid desigh thats in the comics, which makes sense and I feel a bit stupid.

I think it transforms.

From two legs, to four legged stance.

Just a guess since Giamatti was filmed in some kind of suit doing capture stuff.
