The Xbox does have a better lineup? So much for that "Xbox One has a bit better lineup than the PS4" thing I've been seeing around in the hardware reviews. Seems to me that the Xbox One is launching with just as many mediocre (or terrible) games as the PS4. Even the good Xbox One games have a discernible disconnect with their consumers what with the microtransaction stuff.

GDDR5. Most estimates pointed to Hynix not being able to get the high-capacity chips ready this year. So Microsoft estimated that either Sony waits until next year for 8 GB, or launches this year with 4 GB (in which case MS would have the upper hand).Originally Posted by richisawesome
It's amazing. I just...I don't know. Sony's announcement in Feb must have absolutely shocked them to hell and back. But we all knew the PS4 was coming, why didn't MS?
Goddamnit.
Sony made a leap of faith.
It paid off.
holy shit.
how did this gets passed into production ?
didn't they test the game and find it awful ?
Your point is completely redundant when we're talking about this game though. No one gives a flying shit about Fighter Within, and it's never referenced when talking about the best games on the console. System wars have no place in this topic; let's just join hands in togetherness to laugh at an obviously shite game which has no reason to exist, from a goddamn schizophrenic publisher. So much for that "Xbox One has a bit better lineup than the PS4" thing I've been seeing around in the hardware reviews. Pretty much. It works great in the wake racing KSR demo. This is just a shitty outing by Ubi Soft. Probably too far along in development to be just cancelled. MS needs quality control or balls enough to tell big publishers to fuck off when it comes to this type of shit. From what I've heard, Kinect is working very well in other games. Can't really blame the camera for shitty developers.
You know it was shit when MS didn't promote it. I totally forgot that this was a game.
The other black character in the game can "communicate with voodoo spirits". Her biography reveals she lost her family in the 2010 Haiti earthquake. No, not too soon, perfectly appropriate, well done.
yeah, makes sense. That GDDR5 is already showing it's worth - I finally have a console that can give my PC a good fight. I'm amazed.Originally Posted by Nickodemos

My daughter was having that same problem at first, she was trying to turn the jet ski like a car wheel (not saying this is what you were doing, just a guess), you have to turn as if you are stearing a parachute.I played the downloadable version on the store.
I don't know what to say, other than ending in first is little indication of input lag. I turn my arms, and the game takes a significant chunk of time to actually start turning the jet ski properly. It's awkward and slow, and not because of wave physics.
Do you mean you didn't have input lag problems, or that you also didn't mind the track and trick design?
Yes, no input lag whatsoever on my end, I have a feeling you were not positioned correctly for the Kinect sensors to read your movements properly? I say this because when I sat down and tried to play I was having major problems, I had to stand up, once I did it was reading my every movement perfectly, so good infact that if I unclinched my fist just slightly my character would slightly loosen back on the throttle. We probably spent a good hour with the game, it was the talk of the night among family members about how cool the new Xbox was. I had no problem with track design.
I just can't wait so see what the other Rival games have to offer. :)

I own both systems. So when it comes down to choosing games to buy it is always Exclusives+ the best version of Multiplats.
Therefore, for me, PS4 launch games I bought were Killzone, Battlefield 4, CoD: Ghosts, NBA2K14, and Need for Speed Rivals. Because buying inferior versions of those titles on my Xbox One was never a consideration for me.
On Xbox, I bought Ryse, and Forza 5. Ryse is the first next gen title I have completed, and it was a beautiful, and entertaining game, but extremely repetitive. (I am a graphics and storyline whore so I liked it more than most) and Forza, while fun, is disappointing graphically. (save for beautiful photo mode, and even that can't hide the crowds).
So yes, Xbox One had one more enticing exclusive for me than PS4,(Dead Rising is a technical mess and Knack just is not my style) and only because I liked Ryse where many wont. However, PS4 had 4+ Multiplat titles that were much more enticing due to being higher resolution, better framerate, etc.
Exclusives are not the only thing that should be counted in lineups when there is such a disparity between mutliplatform games between systems.
Yup, I also thought of EGM's MK Advance review for GBA. They went to town on that game. Scores were 0, 1.5, 0.5.Originally Posted by richisawesome

Wow, it can detect people leaning. The old KInect could do that, hell all you need for leaning is a good gyroscope. You sure as hell don't need a $100 camera. So far it seems the only thing KInect is good for is navigating XB1's shitacular interface, with voice commands, again no camera needed.Likea lean in BF4? lol lol lol right?
You can't base the Kinect off of one game, I have been having a ton of fun with mine, my daughter has aswell as my brother. It doesn't shock me this game turned out this way, have always felt it would be difficult to make a fighting game based off of any motion sensing technology, and here we are.Originally Posted by WoodenLung

Hahahah that's hilarious. Especially the pics of him at the end where he was supposedly ''rocking and rolling''.Can't wait for the new batch of amazing kinect videos.

As I said before, they needed a killer app for Kinect's gaming possibilities. There isn't one.
Sure, you can't base the new Kinect entirely off of one game. But having former Kinect games being turned into non Kinect games (Crimson Dragon) the awfulness of the prior Kinect, the similarity of the issues, and there being no non-fitness/dancing game that actually works with the hardware, it certainly doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt. Cynicism is the only natural approach when everything so far has been steaming garbage. It'd be nice to be wrong, but a good Kinect game has to happen first.Originally Posted by EtherMagic

People still believing in this shit up to this day. The tech needed to put in there to achieve all that they want would be at least $499 by itself. So it's not like in the natal announcement video? Who would have thought.
They've been bullish on Kinect, though, and it's unfortunate that this turd is the first Kinect-only title to demonstrate Kinect's gaming capabilities.Originally Posted by ricochetguro

This isn't really a fighting game though, the commands are entered just like Dance Central or Xbox Fitness which work quite well so if anything it just further shows how inept the title is.Originally Posted by Snapshot King

True enough, shame Kinect Sports got delayed as that seems actually impressive. The demo that's up was a lot of fun and worked well. They've been bullish on Kinect, though, and it's unfortunate that this turd is the first Kinect-only title to demonstrate Kinect's gaming capabilities.
Well, the canned animations are tied to Kinect recognizing gestures, and that gesture recognition seems to be downright not working well. What would a better Kinect change if the game is just playing canned animations?
Just blaming it on the Kinect is a cop-out, seriously. But I don't know what I should expect sometimes.
Huh. Well, it'd be nice if Kinect Sports came out and worked at least as well as Wii sports. Then it can be uusedfor a few bad minigame compilations I guess before it's forgotten about by everyone. Unless you mean that the Kinect'll be well used enough one day for proper mechanics/gameplay outside of gimmicks, I can see it at best becoming the Xbox Ones waggle.Originally Posted by ricochetguro

I see Kinect very much acting as a secondary, useful tool for many games in ways such as headtracking, lean, etc while also being home to more unique titles that might not be quite as refined but still interesting. And given the hardware is part of the Xbox One this time around I imagine it'll be integrated much more commonly and with thought.Originally Posted by Snapshot King

Plus kinect works very well for the UI elements, mostly just the general voice commands(I think a lot of people doing the calibration don't turn their speaker volume up as it requests) but it's still a nice feature.
