That is indeed one that looks awesome. I had heard only fantastic things about Persona 4 Golden, and haven't played the PS2 version, so I went ahead and grabbed that to go with it! Future purchases will definitely include a much larger memory card and Tearaway. :DOriginally Posted by opticalmace
Nice! Buy Tearaway. :P
I have a PS+ account and I've been grabbing the vita free games as they've been popping up.
Excited to use this bad boy on my commute to work. Does anyone know if P4G requires an internet connection? Or any games for that matter?
No wi-fi on the train.
Glad to be a member!
I wonder what the GAF new to VitaBros numbers are since PS4 launch?
I actually had an order in for last year's BF Vita from Amazon and then cancelled the order. The lure of Remote Play with my PS4 is what pushed me over the edge to finally order and keep one this year.Originally Posted by krypt0nian

Nah, you don't need an internet connection to play P4G. There is a small online component, but it's not necessary to play. You can call for help in dungeons, and you can also see what other players did in certain situations, but it's just an option. I never used either.Originally Posted by ForTheJim

Other than multiplayer games, you can play all your Vita games offline. You just won't have an active friends list on the train. Again - no big deal.
I bought one just to play Celceta, so I'd say it just has enough games now.I'm surprised that the Vita is selling so well. Last year, all the stores around me had a lot of stock sitting there. That stock sat for almost a year and suddenly, most or all the Vita's are gone from the shelves. Is it because of Vita 2000, PS4, or people just want it now?

I think the combination of PS+ offerings, cross buy, and PS4 remote play will give it a bit of life.I'm surprised that the Vita is selling so well. Btw, what is Y's Celceta, an all new game or just a remake? I don't remember the names, but I bought and played the last two Y's on PSP and enjoyed them.
Since I have PS+ locked down for 8-years now (after getting silly with those $30 cards), I figured there would be enough free games on Vita over time to justify the purchase price.
Does the game get better? I don't mind the talking book, I thought that was fun and neat, just everything else was... over dramatic and corny. I've only played like 15 minutes of it, though.
Ys, not Y's. It's the name of a place.Speaking of Celceta, I saw a GS employee do some really sneaky shit! They took the game out of the Silver Anv Edition and sold the guy just the game. I was like wtf???

Anyway, it's a total redoing of Ys 4: Dawn of Ys. So much shit is new and changed it might as well be a new game.
It's even more different than Ys 3's remake into Oath in Felghana.
I'm still keeping mine too. It just would have been nice to play them on that OLED screen. Regardless I'm having a lot of fun now.Originally Posted by cj_iwakura

I'm not really feeling Uncharted though. I think that series formula has become too rote for me now.

With my owning this and the Wii U that is now collecting dust in my living room, I now own the two least successful consoles of the generation. GO ME.
Vita has more and more compelling games on it as time goes on and it doubles as a PS4 accessory now - so it may grow some legs.
That is a good list! I would add Little Big Planet PS Vita edition.Other than the games you mentioned:
Killzone Mercenary
Dragon's Crown
LBPV
Rayman games
Lumines
Spelunky
Hotline Miami
Super Stardust Delta
Sound Shapes
Flower
Loco Roco 2
Patapon 2
GTA Vice City
Crush
Urban Trial Freestyle
Jet Set Radio
Limbo
Stealth Inc.
Machinarium
Pixel Junk Monsters HD
Castlestorm
Sine Mora
PSASBR
Unit 13
EDF 2017
Touch My Katamari
Oddworld Stranger's Wrath
Wipeout 2048
Sonic Racing Transformed
NFS:MW

Rymdkapsel

Welcome to the Vitafold!
My top recommendations:
1) PlayStation Plus, so you can get Uncharted, Gravity Rush, and Soul Sacrifice. Three of the best Vita titles.
2) Persona 4 (which you already know)
3) Tearaway
4) Guacamelee
5) LittleBigPlanet Vita (the best in the series in my opinion)
6) Sly Cooper Thieves in Time (PS3 version, so you can get the Vita version for free)
7) Killzone Mercenary (really excellent FPS)
8) Dragon's Crown
9) Tokyo Jungle Mobile
10) Y's Memories of Celceta (which you already know as well)
11) PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale (love this game to death; shame it got such shit flung its way).
Some bonus PS1 and PSP classics recs:
1) Castlevania: SOTN (one of my favorite games of all time
2) Chrono Trigger (my favorite game of all time)
3) Chrono Cross
4) Final Fantasy IX
5) Alundra
1) Final Fantasy Dissidia 012
2) Gladiator Begins
3) Y's Seven
4) Gurumin
5) Half Minute Hero
The Vita's gorgeous screen, and the second analog stick makes replaying old games almost like playing them for the first time. Many games that I felt cool on on the PSP, are excellent now (like FF Dissidia).
Have fun! The Vita is an amazing handheld. Definitely my favorite of all the handhelds I've owned.
Oh, and Super Stardust Delta, wipEout 2048, and Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack are awesome as well.
PSP
Breath of Fire 3
Crazy Taxi
Darkstalkers
Final Fantasy Tactics
Gran Turismo
Half-Minute Hero
Peace Walker
Persona
Persona 2: IS
Persona 3 Portable
Street Fighter Alpha Max 3
Tactics Ogre
Ys: The Oath in Felghana
PsOne
Final Fantasy 7,8,9
Vagrant Story
Front Mission 3
Fear Effect
The bolded are the only ones I know for sure are available on the Vita for download (at least in the US). Actually, I think MGS Peacewalker you may have to download to a PS3, the transfer it. I don't own it, so I don't know.Good timing with this thread. I have have question for VIta GAF. I'm feeling like it's a better proposition to get one of these as my next console because I already amassed a pretty nice digital PSP collection, so a Vita a would offer a lot of bang for my buck so to speak. Which of my games will I be able to redownload? All of them? I've got:
PSP
Breath of Fire 3
Crazy Taxi
Darkstalkers
Final Fantasy Tactics
Gran Turismo
Half-Minute Hero
Peace Walker
Persona
Persona 2: IS
Persona 3 Portable
Street Fighter Alpha Max 3
Tactics Ogre
Ys: The Oath in Felghana
PsOne
Final Fantasy 7,8,9
Vagrant Story
Front Mission 3
Fear Effect
I'd been lusting for a Vita for a year and a half and just couldn't justify it until now. I even downloaded all the Vita PS+ free games to my PS3 in anticipation. Finally the deal was just too good to pass up! I don't care if it's just an indie/JRPG machine even - I like indies and JRPGs! Now with Tearaway, Ys, P4G (never had a PS2) and all the other PS1 and PS2 Vita games - I'm in. I feel like Vita is the awesome friend-girl who you never imagined having a relationship with who went away to Europe for a summer and came back all hot and sexy. Suddenly it all makes sense! LOL.Originally Posted by Unknown Soldier

I'm pretty sure you're good for most of that. Is there any way to check the PSN Store online in the UK? Wouldn't the Vita section have a list of stuff there available to download?Should mention i'm in the UK, and don't have a PS3.
I think here, the Vita section will only show what's available to download for the system. I think the overall games tab will show everything.
Also, you should have a PS3! It's an amazing console, with an amazing library!
GameStop. Not even once.Speaking of Celceta, I saw a GS employee do some really sneaky shit! They took the game out of the Silver Anv Edition and sold the guy just the game. I was like wtf???

If you're using an EU PS account on your Vita, be careful with PSX games, various titles are not optimized for 50 Hz namely the FF games.Should mention i'm in the UK, and don't have a PS3.
Some PSX games are 60 however like Klonoa, the Spyro trilogy and the RE games. The Crash games run fine despite being 50 hz and are vita compatible.
Get Breath of Fire 3 which is a PSP game, maybe wait to see if it goes on sale first though.
Those 3 games in the OP are definite purchases.
You need Persona 4: Golden in your life.
I have the PS+ games and Guacamelee and PSASBR already. You've made a huge mistake, OP. :P

I never played a Chrono game before, that must be remedied! I did play Alundra, though! Awesome game, needs sequels.
Are there hidden gems in its library, some J or Simulation RPG maybe?
*I have no interest in most Sony IP (Killzone, Uncharted, WipEout...).
I haven't played it yet, but I just found out that Shinobudo 2 is a thing. I think it's an exclusive and it's by the guys who did the Tenchu games.Originally Posted by -Setsuna-

Browsing around on Amazon I found Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention. I actually didn't like D3 all that much but I guess until NIS get around to porting Disgaea 4 it's the best you'll get.Originally Posted by -Setsuna-

So...I plunged in with the Amazon Walking Dead Bundle!
I too, joined the guide of life (a few weeks ago), loving it so far.
Just like the happy contrast I am planning to enjoy this generation, between the PS4 and Wii U; the Vita and 3DS go nicely together :)
Tactics is a grid based game where characters are placed and move on tiles during turns (limited amount of tiles each time). But SRPGs aren't just limited to that. There are SRPGs like Valkyria Chronicles and Knights in the Nightmare that mix up turn-based strategy with real-time action.Originally Posted by disastermouse
