Not sure how console releases are "trends". Also, can't mention f2p without Path of Exile. Absolutely the best example of what that pay model can be if done right.

What's wrong with PvZ2's F2P? I thought it was one of the better ways to do free to play. I was able to completely finish the game and unlock pretty much everything (except certain plants maybe? didn't really matter) without paying a single cent.

Cross play is the only one that makes sense on that list, and it is indeed a nice trend. Paying multiple times for the same game on different platforms in the same family is disgusting and wrong.
...two new consoles is a 'trend'? I mean if your list was "Top 5 things that happened in 2013", then sure, that totally works. But that doesn't define a 'trend'.
